Wasn't the DVD 1:33:1, which was its original aspect ratio. I know it played in theatres, but this was a different cut, no? Has anyone compared the two, which ratio works the best?

I think it's a must. I've always felt it was a compelling, gripping story, especially with the finale, which is very bleak and evocative. Colm Feore is awesome and the character he plays is one of my favorite villains. It's been years since last saw it, but I remember thinking it's a good-quality movie too--nowhere near as cheesy and cheap as The Langoliers or Rose Red or anything like that. SotC might even be my favorite King miniseries (next to The Stand and It).

For that price, I think it's a no-brainer.

I loved Langoliers. It was a spot on adaptation of the novella.

I read the book in high school my sophomore or junior year. Really good book. After that I found a VHS copy at a swap meet or garage sale. I still have it, but the picture quality was so bad. Definitely going to be picking this up.
