They said 4K DCP in the article. Fingers crossed we get some sort of 4K UHD Edition.

Interesting moments when Nolan's intellectual sensibility, on rich display in the way he set up some of his questions, was met with comparatively succinct, practical replies from Brenneman and Venora.

Best executed robbery film ever. The shootout w/Kilmer & Deniro, in 2x2 formation Swiss cheesing the cop cars. I hope for a UHD version ASAP.

I think Neil reserves "motherf**ker" for Waingro. His line here is, ". . . because there is a dead man on the other end of this f**king line." Love that Mann set Neil, Michael and Chris in a damn commercial kitchen for this life-threatening scene. LOL.

The big problem with the current US Blu of Heat is the audio.. Complete muffled garbage. I couldn't even get through the first 20 minutes without turning it off. Finally got my hands on the Japanese BD and it blew me away.

Would love to see a UHD disc come out, but they better get the audio right, even if they have to steal the track from the Jap disc

I agree Warners 4K DCP of "Excalibur" supersedes the current flawed bluray transfer

"Excalibur" keeps popping up in conversations for me lately, and I would love to see it again. Can you tell me more about the 4K version? Is it available through a streaming app, maybe?

This is one of my most looked forward to releases. I really hope Stefan Sonnenfeld supervising the restoration/scan took his time and a lot of effort.

Has anyone heard any new on how it looked when they screened the 4K DCP? I am assuming the Variety article is just fluff with no content.

I have no idea if it's available via a streaming app, as I saw the DCP at the AFI Silver theater (4K Christie projector). But in terms of the PQ, grain is less severe, clarity and colors aren't as muddy looking as on the bluray, sharpness is accentuated - everything that made the bluray a rather ugly problematic presentation is gone - you could finally see and appreciate the time and attention to costume, art design and cinematography.

Hey all, new guy here - so any news on this? I'm just now jumping into the 4K UHD hype bus and was looking to start my collection. When I read Heat was coming to UHD I nearly flipped! (at realorfake4k.com, btw )

...but now I'm finding out it's not a sure thing? Any more news on this?

The current Dolby HD track on the blu is pretty damned impressive - given Warner's consistent releasing thus far, I assume we'll get the same Dolby HD track on the 4K disc...I'd cream for sure if the sound was remixed in ATMOS though - this is a title that screams for it.
