I just now realized that only two people voted for the film, so it's a non-issue. Clearly most members here agree that it is not a western, or at the very least not one of of the top western films of all time.

If you have Turner Classic Movies, they'll be showing it as part of their Gene Wilder tribute night on Thursday, September 29. I remember loving it as a kid but haven't seen it for many years now, so I plan to catch it that night.

Thanks for the tip, but we don't have these channels overhere. Unfortunatly. Have fun watching it. For me it's hard to imagine Ford and Wilder on screen together, so I'm really curious.

Only rated 21 movies.Wish I did 30,just to add A few movies not listed.But so many western I have not watched yet.

Least I did my bit to get Keoma somewhere on the list.

Please check it out! It's one of the great non-Leone spaghetti westerns. Very dreamy and surrealistic, basically right at the edge of what the genre was capable of doing. Also made towards right at the end of the trend in the late 70s so it's kind of detached from the usual template.

And no, I don't think it's right Kill Bill was allowed to be nominated. Yes it's influenced by spaghetti westerns somewhat and takes a lot of the musical cues, but it's clearly a martial arts movie and it's set in the east. It also probably borrows moreso from exploitation and De Palma than from westerns.

?? How do I know what's on the final list until after I & all the others have voted? Nice to see The Professionals & Ride Lonesome, two great westerns.
