During a 15 minutes wait to check out at BB (houston, TX), I talked to a couple of older guys (I am 44..., they were white hair kind of type), each one was buying PS3s (80gigs) for themselves, a couple of minutes later another guy joined them, he was holding a copy of motorstorm in his hands.

There were other guys buying PS3s, these guys were about my age, I am sure these PS3s are going to be for their families .

Our Sams, is out of PS3s and Sony BD players too.

Wow, BD players are selling like crazy! It's great to hear all of this, BD continues to build momentum!

I was in my closest Best Buy yesterday, and they had THREE endcaps that were BD only with displays, and NO HD-DVD endcaps. But the other cool part, FINALLY they are 2 to 1 BD to HDDVD... they were the last holdout in my area that was equal shelf space.

So I usually just read what you guys say, but I thought I would tell you what just happened to me ~ 1 hour ago.

I went to Wal-Mart for some late Christmas shopping, and somehow I always drift into the electronics, lol. Well while I was there, I went to look at the state of blu ray, and much to my surprise, I could not find any BD movies, at all. I asked a worker where I could find the BD movies, and she tells me they have none, none in the "back" either, that they can't keep them on the shelves. I was much overjoyed.

Then I heard a guy talking to his father I assume, and he had an HD-DVD in his hand, and said something along the lines of "Well I have an HDTV, so HD movies will work." Being it my duty, I informed him he would need an actual "HD-DVD" player, and he said oh, and then I told him I recommended Blu Ray anyway, and he says "oh that's that thing on my PS3, right?" lol. So I then told him he already had an HD movie player in his PS3, and he was much overjoyed, then sad because that Wal Mart had no BD movies.

Summary: Walmart in San Antonio has no BD movies, and I met a PS3 owner who didn't know he could play HD Blu Ray movies.

It's not that bad actually. I think most people are done with the Christmas shopping. I went to Best Buy but didn't buy anything hehe. There were a lot of people, though, but nothing like maybe about 2 weeks before.

Good job of informing the uninformed Seriously, for J6P's sake, Sony should just advertise on TV stressing the point that a PS3 plays blu ray...I dunno how but do something that'll be catchy and make people remember, so they won't waste their money buying a HD DVD player in addition.

Great job!! I was able to talk a guy out of buying a 360 along with a hd add on. He said his kid hasn't had a game console, nor was he asking for a specific one. He however, just bought a 1080p tv a couple days before. I let him know about the PS3. He was excited as I walked over to help him find the PS3's and showed him where the movies were located. I also picked up X Men 3 and Silver surfer. They were bogo at Fry's here in Bay Area, Ca. Also, I noticed that my local Targets, cause there are about 3 close to me, are all Blu infected!!!! They all have blu ray players set up.
