Back in the DVD days Universal should have produced more, but sadly they didn't. Bizarre really considering they did more for their other shows and I'd have though The A-Team was their most high-profile cult 80s show.

Unless another label picks up the licence I honestly can't see another release after this one. With each passing year there's less and less demand for these shows and IMO they're reaching the end of their natural life on physical media after so many releases.

The original release is still out there and probably will remain so for as long as Fabulous have the licence, but this new release is the best we're likely to get.

I hate how older high profile shows are treated on blu-ray. It's sad we're not getting anything special for Quantum Leap's 30th anniversary. Seems like a missed opportunity

Just to confirm - there will still be no subtitles on this limited edition correct? Also is this region locked or is it Region A friendly?

Not sure about subs, no image of the back of the box so far and the info on Amazon is very minimal. It says it's region 2 but again, minimal info.

Was the original set region free ? I would guess this new version will be the same as the original when it comes to region coding.

There doesn't seem to be much info out there though, even on the original set, I couldn't even find an unboxing or review on YouTube, which I was surprised about, with how popular the show used to be.

Mine shipped yesterday. Should arrive just in time for my first big vacation of the year.

I love it when a bluray set comes together!

I ordered the new Limited Edition on the 3rd of July but my estimated delivery date is still the 10th of September. Hope they ship it out soon.

I watched some of season 1 of the new Limited Edition set today, there are no subtitles for those interested. I've not had chance to check the region of the discs yet.

I will say the footage is in great shape though, considering how old this show is. I never had the original version to compare but the video quality is top notch. The audio is also crisp and clear, sounds really good.

I loved this show as a kid and nostalgia aside, I was surprised how well the show still holds up, I went from trying the 1st disc to watching 5 episodes lol

There's room for improvement but for a first try it's not bad.

Considering the age of the show, I was surprised it looks and sounds as good as it does. Sure it's not 100% perfect, there is the occasional shot that looks a little rough, with heavy grain or tiny bits of dirt or damage on the print but most of the footage looks really good to me.

I'm guessing this new set will look identical to the old set but never had it, so can't say for sure. Most people seem to like the picture and sound quality of the old set though and to me this new version looks great, so guess it will be similar, if not identical.

Unless there is a 4k release down the road, which doesn't seem too likely, this is probably as good as it gets for The A Team, which is fine with me.

I got box set 987. Quite disappointed with the Amazon packing though as was only in slightly padded jiffy bag so the corners of the outer packing has a few bashes/creases.

Yes think the majority of discs are just the same. Looks like same artwork used, packaging, etc. The main visual differences between the 2 sets seems to be the outer case and the signed card. The episodes containing commentaries are noted on the back of each season, and the season 5 box shows the 5 new special features.

I put my old box set on eBay too, so hopefully cover a little of my costs.

Were Dirk and Dwight watching dvd's to record the commentary? Their audio is mostly just out of sync with the bluray audio, and there were dvd cases behind them (tech guy might have had them signed? He sure snapped a lot of pics), AND at the end of one episode you can hear the copy protection logo and other audio from the dvd version.

It was a delight seeing those two together and listening to their behind the scenes stories. Should have included more video of them watching the show and commenting.

I watched Pros And Cons with the commentary. Seems ok for the first half then getting echo in the second half so yes seems a little out of sync from what they were watching.

One problem with this set, for me anyway, is that it doesn't have many of the 1 minute episode teasers at the start of each show. They are on the dvd sets I have from way back..

Were they present on the previous bluray set?

Not saying they're terrible. Just like Incredible Hulk and Quantum Leap they're off to a good start but there's room to improve things. A lot of dirt from the picture still needs removing. Night time scenes seem to suffer the most as usual.

I could be wrong but I remember the Season 1 episodes having the teasers but they stopped around Season 2. Not 100% sure.

Just checked and only seasons 1 and 4 had the episode teasers on the original blu-ray boxset. Would have been nice if they included them even if they were taken from the DVDs.

Yeah, should have done what CBS did for the TNG blu rays - every episode had the original promo/teaser play before the episode played, albeit in 480i, but I found them a nice addition.

It's strange some season teasers were found but not others.

Are all episodes extended when compared to the DVDs? I tried watching in my PC and inserting the subtitles didn't do any good. These discs don't have any subtitle (in any language), so I thought about watching with the already available ones for the DVD releases.

In the first 38 minutes from 1x01-2 things were OK, then the subtitle became useless.

In the next episode I noticed 1 minute of difference (perhaps more, didn't check further).

Pal speed up? I've no idea about A-Team itself but that's what it sounds like.
