I've never paid any attention to these. I don't even know how I feel about them.. unnecessary, yet, a little cool? I saw my first "big sleeve" item at Best Buy the other day, South Park 20th Season. I just wouldn't have the space to display them other than a milk cart..

You and me both. I only have 1 and that is Rogue One. Can't imagine what it was like for vinyl collectors or LaserDisc for that matter.

I bought the Star Wars one and couldn't find a place for it and it ended up annoying the hell out of me so I put it on Ebay.

The Tesco exclusives should add the 3d version too otherwise not as attractive.
I won't double dip but I have a couple and they bring back lovely memories of the days of Laserdisc when packaging was worth paying for, specially those lovely gatefold sleeves.

I ordered mine from Amazon, for the simple fact if something did go wrong with my shipment(had no problems) they will replace/refund immediately, with no hassle. I can say they were all shipped in a box with paper cushioning material inside. Box was pretty beat up, but all the items were undamaged.

Brown paper, rolled up, used as cushioning. My order was not double boxed.

Retailers could pack BDs in a wooden crate, won't matter much if the shipping vehicle wrecks or catches fire. Not to mention how folks would scream to the high heavens about shipping costs.
It's never going to be a perfect system, which is why I go with Amazon when possible due to their phenomenal return policy...in the event of a lost/damaged shipment.

Yes they are good for return, refunds etc but for me getting worse on packing regardless of what amazon i buy from these days, i remember the days they used to pack well and now just stick it in a box and send off. I have even once from france had a ltd sent with no amazon box just labels stuck on box for whole world to see and that box turned up in a mess. Good job items was ok and box was too big to display and to be honest it was one of them items you would not keep in its box. But for collector its nice to get there orginal box arrive ok.
