One thing you need to bear in mind is Jim talks a lot of bullsh*t on his FB page. He got called out on posting a photo of someone promoting a supposed bluray release of one his movies at a convention in Germany and it turned out he'd faked the photo himself. He keeps hinting at HD releases on a lot of things but he's just blowing smoke.

Perhaps this is what happened to the supposed Australian Ghoulies IV release that I've heard nothing about for at least 9 months now.

From director Jim Wynorksi, on FB:

Quote:
Now I can finally announce it: SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE 2 and HARD TO DIE(the Orville Ketchum saga) coming to BluRay in a combo pack from Shout Factory. With commentary, on camera interviews, isolated scores and brand new transfers. Even a chat with Orville Ketchum himself. With Gail Thackray, Stacia Finley, Deborah Dutch, Melissa Moore, Peter Spellos, Toni Naples, Chuck Cirino, Dustin Ferguson and me Jim 'Arch Stanton' Wynorski.

(Obviously not the real cover...)

If this is a joke, I'm going to be pissed.

For real. Is this finally happening?

These are highly requested titles and considering the recent acquisition of the Corman library, I'm not surprised but this release, though I'm super thrilled! Absolutely awesome news!

I'm choosing not to get my hopes up. Its far to likely that we're going to hear some BS like the audio track is missing.

I'm shocked HARD TO DIE isn't suffering from the DINOSAUR ISLAND problem of "edited on tape".

I saw HARD TO DIE theatrically--pretty sure it was finished on film.

I guess you were right. Been 3 years since this is was first talked about. I just discovered "Hard To Die" existed so check for a thread here and wouldn't you know.

I saw this thread bumped and nearly had a heart attack thinking that Scream Factory finally announced it or the double feature long rumored...

Now I'm sad.

At least there's some light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope this happens sooner than later...

I know you didn't ask me, but I assume the frustration is that when someone replies to this thread, it immediately gives HOPE that it's finally coming, instead of the usual "no new developments" comments.

OOPS! I guess I just bumped the thread again, sorry!

In other words, if we don't hear any concrete news on an actual release, this thread should just remain dormant. But I'm not a moderator, so I guess anyone should still comment if they wish.

But time and time again, I've said Scream did not acquire the ENTIRE Corman library, they have repeatedly said they DO NOT have "Hard to Die", the article at the time of their Corman acquisition listed the number of titles they got (somewhere around 270, cant recall?), which corresponded to the number of titles, all listed, that someone recently posted of Corman titles now owned by Shout from that deal. And "Hard to Die" is not on it.

I assume the Corman estate either kept a lot of other titles, there were WAY MORE than Shout acquired, most of that New Horizons/Concorde garbage is not with Shout, so it's either with Corman's estate or reverted to a producer or wherever. I doubt HTD would go back to Wynorski. Headlines saying "Shout acquires Corman Library" is just hyperbole. Technically they did, just not all of it. But "Shout acquires 270 titles from Corman" just doesn't sound as exciting.

At this point, it will probably take another boutique to unravel the mystery who has "Hard to Die" and go after it. I've been waiting, too, as I sold off my DVD stupidly years ago when Wynorski blabbed (or lied) about a double-feature coming from Scream.

I've always found that some forum members seemingly assume every thread bump means big news has been announced laughable.

It's much more reasonable to assume it's some random comment, then just be happy on the rare occasions it actually ends up being real news.

I really wanted to believe Jim. Wonder if those pics of the girls doing commentary on his facebook page were fake too now. Looked like this really was gonna happen. The only reason I didn't sell my dvd was cuz my drive crapped out so I couldn't "back it up" and just kept it. Hella tempting to cash it in though, bet you got a nice chunk of change for it. They were selling for over $200 at one point, looks like a little less now (1 ebay listing ended at $8.75, I'll bet bootleg on that since another went for $169 buy it now).

I have turned to the latter, but always have that stupid little bit of hope. Just recalled, I never said this wouldn't happen. I haven't been able to get Dead Alive, Bad Taste, True Lies of The Abyss, but I'll try...

This is never going to happen! This movie is lost forever and will never see the light of day on any format ever!

Your move universe, I know you want to prove me wrong again, but you are slipping bad with the others titles not showing. I'm starting to feel like Nostro-motherr****ing-domus up in here!

"Orville Ketchum" has passed away.

Hard to believe that Hard to Die and SHM II are still MIA on Blu-ray...
