The release date is Monday, but if they're already shipping them out I wonder if there's a chance they'll have them in store early? Any UK folk have experience with HMV in this kind of situation?

There is zero chance of this. The shipped Steelbooks won't arrive till Monday anyway as hmv use 2nd class postage.

And even less chance of them actually being on display in-store. They may have them delivered but will be instructed not to display (much less, sell) the item until opening time on Monday AM.

Yes. This. I had a faulty steelbook once that I received Friday/Saturday & tried to change it before Monday in store. But even though they had it in store, they were by law unable to change it

This looks nice, but there's no 4K disc. I'm weary of forking out extra £ for 3D to get my mitts on the Steelbook.

It's the norm now with any film that was in 3D unfortunately

I had the same dilemma. I wanted the 4K, but at the same time I just had to have this awesome looking steelbook with the Niffler on the front cover so I ended up pre-ordering this.

Something tells me I'll probably cave in and get the 4K release at a later date though. Too bad this doesn't come in a 4K+3D combo pack.

The big "3D" is printed on rather than a sticker, unfortunately, but other than that, I really like this steel.

I agree, it's beautiful, and I agree that the 3D being on the front is superfluous as it has the Blu-ray 3D logo on the spine. At least most releases seem to use stickers for the ratings symbols these days.

The glossy elements on the matte background really work very well, and nicely reflects the fact it includes a 3D disc too (even more so with the the shot on the rear of the steelbook with Newt in spot gloss as well).

Looking forward to watching this again.
