Ok. I just clicked and watched the first fifteen minutes (just to get it started) before I had to go to bed. It feels "related" to the first so far. Not as bad as I thought. I'm a huge fan of the first, so I suppose I'm going to be super picky about it. The fact that I didn't hate the first fifteen minutes was a surprise. I'll report back when I'm done watching the whole thing

I MIGHT watch this if it's on Netflix.

But I might not.

The original is a certified Christmas classic.

I don't feel compelled to watch a crappy sequel.

Exactly how I felt about this movie. Not as bad as its reputation, but obviously can’t hold up to the first one.

The true test of how good or crappy Bad Santa 2 is will be after time goes by.

In other words, watch it in 10 years.

Watch it in 2027 and then you'll get a real sense of how good/bad it is.

Right now, too many of us were definitely mad that it was announced let alone that they even went ahead and made it! I know I was. So we have to distance ourselves from that.

Maybe its because I'm not that big of fan of the first one, but I really enjoyed it. Saw it for a second time and thought it held up. The kid was hilarious, Christina Hendricks great to look at, and a real emotional moment near the end, I don't understand the hate. Other than Stranger Things, it was just about Target's only good black Friday BD buy, $6...

Billy Bob Thornton says in the making of Bad Santa 2 that the first one was lucky to get made cause no one wanted to make a movie about a drink foul mouth criminal Santa People wouldn’t even read the script when they was told what it was about.

Finally saw this yesterday after picking up the blu-ray for $10 at Wal-Mart. I'm in Canada, so I was able to sell the digital code to lower the price for myself.

Definitely nowhere near as funny as the original. My expectations were low, so I wasn't expecting much. I don't remember any big laughs, just a few chuckles but I did find the film amusing to watch and I don't feel like I wasted my time.

Contrary to this site's review, I thought Kathy Bates was perfectly cast as Willie's mom. It was nice seeing Brett Kelly as a grown-up Thurman but I thought he was totally underutilized. I was also kinda disappointed in Christine Hendricks in this film, she really seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. I thought that Jenny Zigrino was absolutely wonderful as Gina though.

When I was watching, it also occurred to me that two great comedic legends from the original film, John Ritter and Bernie Mac, are no longer with us. They both died far too young.

For those who missed this Blu-ray and couldn’t find it in the Dollar Tree Broadgreen Pictures waves, Shout will release a new disc on October 4, 2022.

Nothing. It is the same content as the Broadgreen disc.

Here's a great analysis of Bad Santa 2 and why it failed:

I remember being excited for Bad Santa 2 as I loved the first one, but after it was released I was so friggin' disappointed! Same happened with Dumb and Dumber To.

Don't make sequels if they're gonna be garbage!
