Incidentally, some vintage 3-D movies have used the same filming technique to create 3-D imagery through motion parrallax. One of the most successful examples is the opening credits for Jivaro. If you study it carefully you may observe the same water ripple pattern about 2 frames apart from left to right eye. They would've filmed it with a single camera just moving at a steady pace along the riverside. With every few inches traveled you have a near perfect stereo pair. There are a few other shots filmed on location where a 3-D rig presumably wasn't available, and 2d footage has been offset to give a dimensional effect, with generally good results.

Parasite also attempts this in a small handful of close-up shots, but with much less success. Parts of the image will seem closer or further away, but not in any way that makes sense; it just looks like out of sync footage, which is what it is. Maybe a few times it almost works. Perhaps the 3D lens wasn't available when they were filming.

I would've appreciated if they had! With their premium packaging and general attention to detail, I would've expected them to go that extra mile. If 3DFA and Kino can have a recreation of the Magic Mystic Mask viewers (dvd only), I would've thought Indicator could've cooked up some Ghost viewers. I actually bought a vintage one online. (Don't ask me how much I paid!) Recreations have since become available. Pulfrich glasses so easy to make, there'd be little point including them.

I was recently surprised to find some 1953 shorts included as extras on the Shogun Women disc. Are there any other 50s-era special features on any of the 70s-80s (or even later) discs?

First off, let me say I adore the work done by the 3D Film Archive and support them every way I can. I have own every 3D film released on Blu-ray from the Golden Age of 3D (1953-56).

I am curious if there are any improvements or differences between the original House of Wax (1953) released by Warner and the Warner Archive release that came later? I own the first edition.

Thanks to any and all respondents!

I had the same question.

Was also wondering the same for The Mad Magician.

Oops. Nevermind. Found this in the Mad Magician thread …

The Indicator discs of The Mad Magician are identical but there are some differences with the Twilight Time disc. These are discussed in the thread for that film but aren't major enough to worry about really.
