If memory serves, Diaz took over her role in The Counselor when Angelina Jolie bowed out, so she wasn't first choice, though I thought she did as well as could be expected. At least she has the requisite femme fatale qualities.

One thing I could never understand was a director as sharp as Brian De Palma casting Hilary Swank as a femme fatale in The Black Dahlia ( and in a film featuring Scarlett Johansson!). I read not long ago that De Palma had wanted to cast Eva Green after seeing her in The Dreamers; now there's a femme fatale for the 21st century! At any rate, I'd prefer her to be the muse of a director other than Tim Burton...

Though I don't think all the Scorsese/ DiCaprio match-ups are of equal quality, not one of them has been less than intetesting. I feel DiCaprio was always straining too hard to give AN ACADEMY AWARD WINNING PERFORMANCE in so much of his work, I'd like to think there'll be a more relaxed quality to his acting since his win.

Eva Green was a poster child for Femme Fatales in Sin City 2.

I actually love Sin City 2. I like it even more than the first one (which I love as well). I never understood why its so disliked.

The Green "A Dame To Kill For" section of the movie is legitimately good. I wish the rest was on the same level, but I'm glad it exists just for that section.

Very good... sweet and funny movie with excellent performances from Pacino, Cannavale, and Bening.

I'm not sure why I missed it in theater or why I never picked it up on Blu Ray. I actually saw it on the plane from Seattle to Amsterdam. I fell asleep during Ant Man, watched San Andreas and then enjoyed Danny Collins but I'm going to need to watch it again.

Mediocre. I mean, De Niro and Pacino do a lot of straight to video shit nowadays, so this is a huge step over that, but it's still nothing special at all.

Well, Jolie bowing out was a lucky break.

And Diaz did better than expected. She gave 2013's finest performance by a female.

I know there's another thread, but this one has more activity and that one has JJ Abrams in the title.

Looks like this will be next for Scorsese after The Irishman.

I want to see both The Irishman and Flower Moon like, "right now right now."

So yeah, a Scorsese picture funded by Netflix? That kind of surprises me.

Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio Officially Attach To ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’
by Mike Fleming Jr - October 24, 2018 12:00pm

In a development Deadline told you 18 months ago was going to happen, Martin Scorsese has officially attached to direct and Leonardo DiCaprio to star in the feature adaptation of the New York Times best-selling David Grann book Killers of the Flower Moon. Eric Roth wrote the script.

In addition to directing as his next project, Scorsese will produce alongside Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas, Sikelia Productions’ Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Appian Way Productions.

Imperative Entertainment, which went on to make All The Money In The World, and backed Ridley Scott’s decision to scrub Kevin Spacey and reshoot his scenes with Oscar-nominated Christopher Plummer weeks before the film’s release, really got on the map with its stunning acquisition of this book. It made a $5 million bid that was millions more than what other suitors were willing to pay back in 2016. Adding the seven figure sum for Forrest Gump writer Roth to adapt it, and this has been a pricey development process. But when it results in landing Scorsese and DiCaprio, it sounds like money well spent. It put Imperative — which wrapped the Clint Eastwood-directed The Mule — on the map.

“When I read David Grann’s book, I immediately started seeing it—the people, the settings, the action—and I knew that I had to make it into a movie,” said Scorsese. “I’m so excited to be working with Eric Roth and reuniting with Leo DiCaprio to bring this truly unsettling American story to the screen.”

In 1920s Oklahoma, the Osage Nation were the richest people per capita in the world, after oil was discovered under their land. And then they were murdered, one by one. As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI took up the case and unraveled a chilling conspiracy and one of the most monstrous crimes in American history.

Imperative Entertainment executives have met with the Osage Nation and the team is scouting locations in the coming months with production set to commence during the summer of 2019.

30WEST will arrange the financing and distribution for the project.

Scorsese and DiCaprio are both represented by LBI Entertainment and attorney Steve Warren of Hansen, Jacobson. Scorsese is also represented by WME.
