Nothing about "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" looked good to me from the trailer, from the concept to the CG apes and of course there had be that awful Tim Burton film. I've also never been a huge fan of the original films and didn't need another one. When I finally caught up with the film, encouraged by great reviews, it blew me away. It was the rare modern Hollywood blockbuster which I found exciting, involving and emotionally affecting in equal measures. The sequel was great too and now this is my favourite movie franchise. Though a CG creature, Caesar the most complex and interesting character of any current big budget film series.

Speaking of the Wachowski's, I don't know if I expected it to be horrible, but I was really leery of Cloud Atlas and I loved that experience to death.

Jupiter Rising on the other hand...

The latest Fantastic Four film was definitely the stain on filmmaking most say it is.

Alien Covenant was a masterpiece and thankfully I didn't listen to the negahype.

It's not exactly a masterpiece, but from the way its sales tanked and how everyone talked about it, I thought The Good Dinosaur was going to be more of this:

and less of this:

If you can get past Arlo's clunky design, it's a beautiful film.

When Batman Begins trailers started showing I remember saying "Another Batman movie! Ugh!" I guess I was beaten down by "Batman and Robin". Then a friend talked me into seeing it and I was blown away and now it's one of my favorite films.

It's in the signature right there in the post.

Stalker was all about the weak being strong and the stalker having a daughter who also can't walk etc... just wouldn't expect a fan of it to call Gump a retard on a bench. All I'm saying

Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded.

Yes, because they are so similar.
