CULVER CITY, Calif. (September 19, 2017) – Idris Elba (Prometheus) and Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey (Best Actor, Dallas Buyers Club, 2013) star in THE DARK TOWER, the epic adventure based on the Stephen King book series, debuting on digital October 17 and on 4K Ultra HD™/Blu-ray™, Blu-ray and DVD October 31 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Roland, the last Gunslinger (Idris Elba) has been locked in an eternal battle with the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from destroying the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle. THE DARK TOWER also stars Tom Taylor making his feature film debut, Katheryn Winnick(“Vikings”), Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley (Best Supporting Actor, Little Children, 2006).

THE DARK TOWER has a run time of approximately 98 minutes and is rated PG-13 for thematic material including sequences of gun violence and action.
This has two showings a day at a mall around me. One later tonight. I was planning on going to the mall anyways, so you know what? I think I'm gonna see this tonight. The show still seems to be moving forward.
The studio is just saving face until society gets distracted by something else, then the project will quietly die. I'll eat both of my shoes if anything regarding this incarnation of THE DARK TOWER continues.
Got out of this a little bit ago and actually quite enjoyed it. Idris Elba is just fantastic. Not everyone else is up to snuff, and it's by no means a great movie, but it still entertained me. It's going to be one GORGEOUS 4k disk. It's a 4K DI for those that care, and it's a really beautiful looking movie. It's got some geniuenly great cinematography and imagery to look at. Atmos track should be great too. Wish we were getting an extended cut though.

I saw this today finally. Loved it! It indeed will look great in 4k. I do not understand the negative reviews. But then I'm not massively into the books, but as a film it worked very well. I could've done with it being longer but it was nice to see a concise movie for once. I hope there is an extended cut on 4k too.

and to think it got the full Dolby treatment here - what a waste.
As a massive fan who was willing to give the film a chance after the critics trashed it, it turned out to be massively mediocre, such a waste. And yes, very poor looking film.
