Down even lower in price today.
Took a risk with the 'gift option', here's hoping that option works because I'm sick of Amazon Japan sending me dented and crushed steelbooks in flimsy envelopes.

It took three tries but the third one came mint. Customer Service got involved after receiving two damaged and the third one was wrapped in bubble wrap and came in a box with air pillows. They let me keep both damaged copies and I was able to switch out the front and back covers so that just one copy has the damage. One is opened with just a tiny dent on one corner and I’m leaving the mint copy sealed. I’m going to sell the near mint copy.

I’ve since ordered another steel and paid extra for the gift wrapping and it came in a box in PERFECT shape on the first try. Amazon Japans customer service is awesome.

Ordered this from cdjapan, $80 shipped. Cheapest I could find it.
Actually, it's for the three disc set, already have the 4K disc which I'll also store in the case.

Many thanks for the suggestion. It worked.
Outer packaging looked as if it was trampled on by a pack of inebriated sumo wrestlers, but the 'gift option' packaging helped my copy of the steelbook come through unscathed. I'm always taking this option now.

PS. Love the embossing on this edition.

Geez, I just noticed this.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BLADE-RUNNE...IAAOSwM7JZxHZt

This eBay seller is using my pictures without my permission! What should I do? I hope he's not one of you guys.

They're the pics I originally shared on this thread. Exactly the same, huh?

Message them and call them out on it......report them to ebay if you have to. Dunno if you have any rights or not so they might not take any action.

How do you know they are yours just out of curiosity? I also posted photos of it on this forum but mine a very identifiable background... those photos just have a generic background.

I wouldn’t care if someone uses my photos though. I’m about to sell one of my three editions later in the week. I’m keeping my unopened copy and I’m going to use the first damaged copy. The second edition only has a tiny dent in the corner so I plan to sell that one.

They're the exact same photo. You can tell by the angle, the reflections, and the crinkles in the shrinkwrap. Pretty obvious to me.

I guess I was more interested in finding out how he discovered it... I just don’t think I would have noticed. I wasn’t questioning whether or not the photos were duplicates.

$110 doesn’t seem unreasonable to me for an OOP L.E. 4K version of Blade Runner. Especially when so many people are having trouble getting even the wide release amaray Edition. It cost me close to $80 to buy it new from Amazon JP.

Also if you google image "Blade Runner Japanese 4K Steelbook" those images are the first relevant ones that are shown, so that's how he found them.

If you re-download them from eBay, wouldn't you be able check the camera and other image metadata in Photoshop? That would be definitive proof (but yes, they're the same pictures).

Btw I bought it new from Amazon.jp too. My first and only 4K UHD Blu-ray. It'll be 2049 before I can play it!

I guess I just don’t understand why it matters. I just wouldn’t care. It’s not like a photo I take of one of my Blu-ray is valuable or proprietary. I’ll sell you my photo of my Blade Runner steelbook for $100 if it is!

I see it as false advertising in a way. If I purchase something from a seller on ebay I expect to receive the items that were in the photos. If they are using someone else's photos who knows if they are in the exact same condition or not. I will almost never buy anything from anyone that uses stock photos for that very reason. Sometimes it's unrealistic though if they have like multiple copies of an item I wouldn't expect them to photograph each individual one so long as they are all in identical condition.

It only matters if the buyer knows that the photo is not authentic.
