Yes, and oh yes.

I want the 4k version but am strongly considering the Amazon steel book that contains the 3D disc too.

The only subtitles on the UK 2D and 3D Blu-ray checkdiscs I've received are English HOH.

Perhaps the most curious thing with the UK release is that Lionsgate has ditched the branching 'Enhanced Viewing Mode' that appears on the US BD and instead just makes the 14 'Enhancement Pods' available as standard extras only accessible from the menu.

Neither checkdisc (2D or 3D) would play on my US deck.

And based on Hacksaw Ridge, Lionsgate UK actually know how to encode a disc.

Pre-orders from where? I'm probably too late, I suspect...

I was going to ask about this release, but it sounds like it will also be Region B locked.

If you mean Yesasia, I found that listing. But it's $47.99, which is a bit steep...

Default Zaavi steelbook

Has anyone been able to confirm if the Zaavi 3D steelbook is indeed region-free?

I know everyone here has established that Lionsgate is really strict about region-locking.

A friend of mine got a response from Zaavi saying:

"I actually wrote an email to the retailer (Zavvi UK), and they said that the 3D blu is region-locked, and the 3D blu in the steelbook is not. "

Is that something that ever happens?

I second that question. I'm all over that Zavvi pre-order if it is truly Region Free...

I have the Hong Kong version ordered from YesAsia, but I'm looking into canceling it. It might to be too late. The option wasn't there, so I contacted customer service.

I contacted Zaavi about the region coding on Valerian 3D's steelbook and Terminator 2 3D and they said they would check on it and never got back to me.

"I have raised this with our operations team to get confirmation of whether these are region free or not. Once I hear back from them I will be in touch to let you know."

I have a feeling they are just getting the info from someone in distribution who might or might not be doing their job right. They could just have entered it wrong in a computer and relaying the region free info for all we know because I doubt anyone but the distributor has it in hand to know.

I guess we won't find out until someone tries the steelbook disc on a region A player.

Interesting that Amazon is listing the 3D version at £15 (a penny more expensive than the 2D at 14.99!)... also, they've added the lenticular slip to the listing itself - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Valerian-Th...words=valerian - guess there'll be no arguments if it doesn't come with a slip now!

That's not exactly fair to people that previously pre-ordered @£17.99 to drop it by £3 on release day and not pass on the saving..

Very zavvi that it

What's going on with the Amazon 4K + 3D steelbook? I have one preordered from a while ago but it's just sitting there without a release date.

It should have despatched by now. Many people including myself have already received theirs.
