I'm sorry, guys.
Wolf is fun and fast-paced. It doesn't feel like a three-hour movie.

OTOH, I haven't seen any Lav Diaz movie because they're like 6-hour long, and I ain't gonna apologize for it.

Movies are as long as you make them to be.

If you want to see a particular movie badly enough, you'll find a way to watch it regardless of its duration.

I guess we can kind of salvage this thread by highjacking it to discuss a real question for a blu-ray forum: the length of movies these days instead of ADHD.

I agree with your statement. A movie can seem too long at 2 hours and just right at 3.

Some here old enough remember most movies used to average 1&1/2 to 2 hours, whereas they have definitely become 1/2 hour or more longer than that on a regular basis. Back in the day, only epics were 3 hours but no one blinks at a 3 hour movie any more. I find myself thinking some could be shorter from time to time though it's not a huge issue with me.

Rush Hour 2 (1 hour, 34 minutes) felt like it was 6 hours long. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly (3 hours, 6 minutes) left me wanting more at the end. It all boils down to pacing.

Also boils down to taste too. A film can be paced very well but if you're not into it the film, it can still be a struggle to get through.

I just spent eight+ hours watching both Bill & Ted movies, the 1-hour documentaries on the Shout Factory set, and listened to the writers' commentaries on both.

Dude, get help.

It all depends on the film, but I would say feeling a film is overlong is something which happens much more frequently than feeling a movie is too short. Barring epics, I tend to prefer movies be under two hours, and while I have seen films over four hours long, there certainly are some movies say 140 min+ that I plan on seeing but have delayed due to their running time, or if I'm deciding between a few films to watch one night, the running time often does factor in.

Well, I don't need to waste 2 and half hours to watch a horror movie and sit and hear about the characters sob story about their drug use while the monster or super strong bad guy is going around killing people fir like 2-3 days in the movie.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face and nobody can convince me otherwise...there is no freaking way that Edward Yang's A Brighter Summer Day needed to be four hours long.

And that ladies and gentlemen...is a fact.

Even the recent Underworld and Resident Evil movies are like either 2 hours too long or 2 and half hours.

Nope, other than the first Underworld, none of the films in either series are even close to two hours long. And the last three Underworld movies all run briskly at under 95 minutes.

You are on a movie forum. Making utterly stupid (IMO) comments about not being able to watch movies because they are too long is just dumb. Like someone else said, get to the doctors. Or stop starting idiotic threads.
