This is interesting news, but let's not get overly excited here. There are going to be so many tidbits coming out of this show over the next few days and we should not get caught up in information that may or may not be true. The way this thread is heading, I say by the time it gets to page 5, someone is going to state that this news is fact.
Let's just all remember that any news is not fact until a studio makes a official annoucement. Just saying let's stay calm and level headed. |

They highlighted the Nintendo and Blu-ray because of the pictures by the text. The two pictures shows a crazy guy playing the original Nintendo, the other picture is a BD-R disc (obviously). So they highlighted the matching text.
Thats all. Sorry for ruining the party... ![]() |

I think Nintendo and Blu-ray are just being highlighted because it's just referencing the two photos used in the column in case no one knows what they are? The guy that wrote the article or designed it probably just put up what he likes and just needed to reference those two photos. As for the gadget at the bottom...I'm not so sure.
Well, that's my theory. |

Maybe HD-DVD wasn't first introduced at CES.

I really hope they will announce something exciting at the CES. Either WB go Blu or Universal go BLU will do for the new year

I don't think this is really anything out of the ordinary. Universal is a big studio and much like Disney voting on HD-DVD they want to make sure they are prepared for any circumstance. Universal is not going to be dumb enough to alienate Blu-Ray in case they want to release on the format in the future.
