Inuyasha was like 200 episodes while Naruto is over 700.. There's a decline in sales with every consecutive release so even if they released them with 50 episodes a set, that's still 14 home releases. I can understand why Viz might not want to commit to this.

Oh I totally get that, but Naruto is much more mainstream/popular than those. Maybe they can do limited print collectors sets that they can sell for a premium price and include a couple hundred episodes a set. Maybe OG naruto is one set and then a part 1 and part 2 Shippuuden sets priced around $200-$300. Sort of like what funimation has done for DBZ’s 30th anniversary blu ray.

I'd be very surprised if Viz didn't release at least the original Naruto on Blu-ray. The last wide original Naruto DVD release was in 2009 after the Uncut box sets wrapped up. A new release is long overdue for classic Naruto. Shippuden is another story and not one that my wallet is looking forward to, if it ever happens. I'd buy through the Kage Summit arc and then stop buying.

That is honestly one of the ugliest pieces of art I have ever seen on a Steelbook. And there is a lot of bad looking Steelbooks out there. I'm sitting here scratching my head looking at it. I'm 99% sure that I won't be buying this because of that art. I don't want that in my collection.
