I have seen an 8K TV in the flesh. It was at London Comic Con this year, and Domo World was touring their new animation on what is apparently one of the few 8KTVs in the world. It looked great, but obviously it's demo footage on a loop, so of course it looked great.

Some music documentaries on Netflix I would love to see in 8K and in 3D too and with 3D audio.
Queen and Yes; two of my favorite music bands. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 12-27-2017 at 08:05 PM. |

So I looked but I couldn't see anything. ___ • What do you propose we do? Two threads on the Future of 8K is one too many, and we join them together, no problemo with me. And to please the people who use their PCs, I will not use my portable device anymore. That way the search function will become available. On another website it was suggested to me to use my cell phone or tablet so that it would fit what others are seeing. We have about 244 threads on 4K, 158 on 3D and 6,739 on 1080p Blu-rays. Your thread is on 8K discussions, the future of 8K is certainly part of it, if only the search function was working with portable devices. I cannot use my PC away from home. In Japan 8K is big. Happy New Year! 2018 is the one that'll bring 8K in our homes. |

8k, the future of splintering tech....
were not even to a decent level of 4k saturation, hell lot of folk's still rocking dvds and crt even... talk of 8k literally does nothing but harm 4k adoption as it makes people question how long 4k will be around. Talk of it reaaally needs to be in proper context otherwise, yeah, dooooooooooom |

8K wasn't invented to harm 4k; it's just the normal evolution.
We can buy 8K cameras and film our own videos. ...Family, children, faces, nature, wildlife, travels, cruise ships, mountains, snow, winter, Christmas, New Year's eve, Halloween, dancing lessons, music live concerts, Olympics, Superbowl, ... If I would have started a thread on VHS, Laserdisc or DVD, it would have generated negative comments because we live in 4K Blu-ray today and we want to make sure of its utmos success, with Atmos. If I would have started a thread about 16K, some folks would have complained that there is none and we could not start something new that we might only see in three years from now, maybe six. It is almost impossible that films please everyone on the planet...Dunkirk is highly regarded and some critics found it boring. Mother! is well received in general by the cinema avantgardistes and some critics found it the worst film of the century. It's the same with everything in life; love and hate, peace and war, life and death. If people want to compare 120, 240, 360, 480, 720, 1080, 2160, 4320, 8640, 16320, ... that is all perfectly fine with me. All the negatives and positives of our planet are welcome. Because no matter what we cannot escape what's coming up. Today is marvelous, tomorrow we'll marvel even more so. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 12-28-2017 at 01:03 AM. |

I was outside this morning and playing in the snow with the grand kids.
It's winter and the sky is bright. It looked 8K, with that Dunkirk light. Now I'm looking thru the window and it's almost dark, like black and white shade fading 8K alike type of thing ... |
