Where would it end up then?

Because its not UV enabled at Vudu or FandangoNow.

Vudu just has a generic redeem button.

Folks on Vudu's forum have asked for it to be flagged UV, but whether they'll do it or not who knows. Sometimes when non flagged UV titles are pointed out to them they fix it right away, other times not.

Now that vudu has it set up where new customers can't share with other accounts I think it's safe to say uv is about to be done.

I don't know how it can be "done" when three studios are still holding out on Movies Anywhere support.

They'll just offer redemptions directly at the retailers including Vudu. They have already stopped using UV branding for their digital copies anyway.

They can still give you a digital code doesn’t mean it has to be UV.

Vudu got butthurt because of the shaky MA rollout which had them giving out UV licenses to movies that were purchased elsewhere. So now it seems they're abandoning UV which means there is absolutely nothing special about their service. GG Vudu, you will just lose even more customers to iTunes. As if enough people weren't jumping ship already with the free upgrades at iTunes.

Said by an Apple Lover, but Vudu is on solid ground and doing Fantastic. Most people having problems are with iTunes. UV is still alive, and doing even better with MA. There are even more Providers, iTunes better start to worry because Vudu is going to bury them!

Why would iTunes care if Vudu buries FandangoNOW and the few other UV retailers no one cares about.

The best thing Vudu is good for is Disc to Digital MA movies to get into iTunes. And a suppose for having and handy app in a tv. But mostly D2D to iTunes. Which has nothing to do with UV.

MachoKing is right, they or someone got upset about giving away UV rights to movies bought/redeemed through iTunes. So UV seems to be fading.

This surprises me about VUDU, especially since most (all?) UHD titles are priced the same as HDX so why not upgrade everyone as well?

WB did the same thing with the Lego Ninjago Movie.

Fox and Sony just have Digital Movie branding, but I'm sure that will change with new releases. UV is definitely dead as far as bundled codes.

I was as big a UV supporter as anyone, but I'm all in for Movies Anywhere now. I haven't had any problems with UV or Movies anywhere, I just want one digital locker that works with all my movies, and all the retailers. It seems to be heading that way, if Lionsgate and Paramount jump on board.
