Were you unaware til now there was going to be one film a year? Because nothing has changed. These films aren’t coming out til the 2020’s. And this is something completely different. The possibilities are endless. This isn’t a spinoff about a Saga character or Episodes X-infinity.

Lucas was a business man too, but he still make other films. Red Tails, Tucker, Willow, Labyrinth and many more. Most of them didn’t make money but the passion for making films was still there.

People do realize that David & Dan aren't going to write a Star Wars movie to the same violence of GoT, right?

And David B is a very accomplished writer. He wrote 25th hour. He adapted many seasons of Game of Thrones. And despite the script being butchered, he wrote the screenplay for the movie Troy, which was one of the hottest scripts in Hollywood at the time it was written.

Cool

I have as much interest in these vague, nebulous plans as I have in Rian Johnson's vague, nebulous plans. That is, none. What I'm looking forward to is Solo, and then Episode IX. After that, when we have some idea what's really going on, I will start to get interested.

They should certainly keep working behind the scenes, but announcing things this far out is a worthless distraction.

These guys are as good as any to finally give us something vaguely resembling Knights of the Old Republic. I doubt that's what they're actually doing, but I'll continue hoping so til we get more concrete info lol

I think this is a smart move. I'm guessing we're getting new characters, which might cool the heat LF is receiving from some quarters in regards to misunderstanding or mistreating the classic characters. As I said a few months ago, audiences definitely need to be weaned off the characters and situations in the OT. It throws up so much inadvertent comparisons to the past, and such talk really doesn't do justice to the technical artistry and effort put into these films.

Its like a DC or Marvel universe.

Think if they stopped at Superman or the Sub Mariner & the Human Torch.

I'm looking forward to more. And the TV series as well.

As long as he does better than Alan Taylor. We don't need another Thor 2...

Preach! Back in the day, we had to wait three years between movies, and then one day there weren't any more. Having at least eight more to look forward to?

That's the other thread, not this one.

Title of this thread clearly says film.

It is an assumption by many that this is a trilogy. The press release does not specify how many films are being planned. I think we're just so conditioned to SW being done in trilogies. But perhaps this is only going to be 2 films. But at this point, they haven't specified, unless I missed it somewhere.
