I don't get all the hate for Amy Schumer. Is that an American thing? The premise of this comedy is quite original, the trailer actually ís funny and Schumer seems to be perfect for this.

I have to say though, she really isn't that famous outside the US. Neither are her TV shows. As for that, I have watched many -oh so many- standup shows from many different countries and honestly, that video about how jokes were re-used by Schumer ... If you just take the time and effort, you can do that with 80% of the comedians all over the world. It's just easier to point at the ones you hate.

She's a disingenuous purveyor of lesser known artists' work, passing it off as her own creation, and what she doesn't procure from others is a mixed bag at best. I use to assume the negativity was from the small minority who object to prominent female voices in the entertainment industry, but having seen a few of her routines, there's so many bits and pieces she weaves into her work that I recalled seeing for the first time performed by comedians before Schumer was a thing. The shamelessly blatant nature of it is hilarious. She clearly assumes her audience is uninformed.

OK. Finally got around to watching the trailer and it doesn't look that bad (or crude).

I expect the film as a whole will be both bad and crude.

The woman isn't funny. It's as simple as that.

I had no clue who she was before Trainwreck opened but it did got me interested in seeing some of her stand-up work and it was just painfully unfunny. It lacks any kind of cleverness or wit, just non-stop vulgarity and as for Trainwreck, it was one of the absolute worst movies I've ever seen.

She's nowhere as funny as some REAL comediannes like Roseanne, Rita Rudner, Madeline Kahn, Phyllis Diller or Lisa Lampanelli, to name a few.

As for this film, I'm definitely getting a Shallow Hal vibe from it and the message of self-confidence is never a bad thing, the execution here is questionable at best and have serious doubts that it'll be any good, especially after Amy's last abortion of a movie, Snatched.

BTW, thanks for making such a generalization.

What's that got to do with anything? Seriously, there are bad female comedians just as there are bad male comedians. This is a drop in the ocean compared with all the Kevin James/Adam Sandler/Tyler Perry crap that's invaded the film world for the last decade.
