Why is Toshiba still reluctant?

It'll be very interesting to see the events that happen over the next few weeks. I don't think Toshiba will put the white flag up outright, but as soon as Universal goes Blu (and possibly Paramount) then it's game over.

If you notice, the few HD DVD supporters who do believe the format war is really over are now doomsayers about BD saying it will never make it, the prices are too high, incomplete spec, and all the other typical FUD they've been spewing for several years. Make no mistake; the Lee Stewarts of the world have the same ole agenda as before. They have absolutely no interest in watching movies in the format with the highest audio and video quality possible.

I've noticed this as well on quite a few forums/threads. There are definitely a lot of people out there that could care less about HDM in general. They just like arguing on the internet.

As for the rest, I've seen a lot going through the five stages of grief:

1. Denial and Isolation.
2. Anger.
3. Bargaining.
4. Depression.
5. Acceptance.

Quite a few seem to be stuck on #2 and #3.
