Great voting subject, but I'm afraid I haven't seen (or remember actually) enough Hitchcock movies at this point to come up with a list big enough to be fair. I'll follow the results with much interest.

I felt like it would be a fun one to do because of this. Which reminds me: I need to get my list together too! I just kind of threw this one out there without doing my list first.

The Birds and Vertigo always keep switching spots at #1 and #2 for me. It's so difficult for me to come to any sort of real decision.
The Birds is a film I find terrifying, frankly. Everything's fine and beautiful and then, out of nowhere, all these birds suddenly become violent. Then just as suddenly, and for no reason whatsoever again, it stops. We're surrounded by birds all the time. It's simply nature gone berserk. The brilliance of it, for me, is there's absolutely no attempt at giving a reason for it going berserk. To me, that's really scary. Vertigo, OTOH, is whole different animal. It's just deeply unsettling. There's a lot wrong with what's going on in this film. And the ending is epic. Plus, it's just a gorgeous film. |
