It's Warner, they like waiting for anniversaries.

As for other movies mentioned in this thread, I would love Speed, it's one of my favorite movies. It would be a quadruple dip, but hey.
I will hold onto my blu ray of speed then

Just seems the quality of movies coming to the 4K format is better this time around.
I agree. In late 2016 it was mostly a bunch of stupid new releases that were getting 4K UHD discs. But in 2017, things really picked up momentum. Now we're just starting to get a bunch of high quality catalogue releases and the important new stuff is getting good treatment.

I'm willing to wait for Black Friday to double dip on most of my favorite catalog titles, but Forrest Gump might be too tempting to pass up. I can't believe that it has been 10 years since the blu ray came out. I remember going to Best Buy to pick it up, along with Nirvana Unplugged in New York on DVD.

Paramount getting real creative with these cover arts lol

But I'd rather have "old and safe" than "new and floating-heads-Photoshop-disaster."

Always a risk, but they didn't do that with Star Trek/Star Trek Into Darkness, Interstellar, or Transformers 1-5. I don't think they'll do that with their Sapphire titles.

Best Buy has it listed as a 3 disc set which means the special features disc is getting ported over. Good.

Looks like Paramount is releasing all of the Sapphire Series on 4K. Hopefully we can get a Godfather 1 & 2 announcement soon.

They'd have to remaster American Beauty because the BD looks rather mediocre.

They'd also have to replace Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer.

Yep. I think streaming is also driving this...studios cannot wait with UHD BD as long as they could in the past with the other formats.

I might have to order this. I bought the Blu-Ray a few years back. But I think my dog scratched the disc and can't find it. Only have the special features disc. So this a great opportunity to pick this one up. Its still 2+ months away.

Good We still need Indiana Jones quadrilogy... BTTF, Titanic, LOTR trilogy, Star wars saga; then I think they should focus on other catalog staples of home video like Shawshank, Top Gun, Alien franchise, Pulp Fiction, IB, James Bond 50, Bruckheimer films. Because I'm selfish! I've only got 7 of my top 20 out or coming to UHD as yet...
