It's just one executive who made a comment during a studio screening. Unless they actually start changing their release strategy or pull it from festivals, there's really nothing to worry about.

... well, this is tough.

I get it’s a satire. I get the joke. It’s basically the 21st Century version of The Great Dictator. But honestly, Hitler, the Hitler Youth and the Holocaust were not a joke, which is the real problem here. I just can’t laugh at this, given the... interesting times we find ourselves it.

It has the right to to be made, released and enjoyed, but it just doesn’t feel funny to me at the moment. YMMV.

I've been won over. A much better trailer. Will be eagerly anticipating the movie - the first time I can say that about anything Waititi-related.

I’m still on the fence, for a satire, it kinda oddly looks serious. Like it looks quirky and all that, but the actual stuff with the Jewish girl seems to be being played fairly straight. Something about it is just sitting a bit odd with me, like if you’re doing a satire, then satirise, this kinda just looks like a family comedy revolving around nazis.
