A few weeks before Christmas would have been perfect..

I wish they'd tell us what the delay is they are stringing us along over this title and the two GAR ones .. It's getting very frustrating.

I've paid for Blunden (and will do for both Romeros) and yet do not feel slightly strung along on this one bud. Things happen. If it were a Signal One indefinite delay then fair enough but this is 2 months. These things do happen with boutiques, sadly, but if waiting gets us the best version possible it's a no brainer. They're not delaying just to annoy anyone - and since they're now seeing this film miss out on the Christmas sales I'd imagine as annoying as waiting is for us, it'll be a bigger financial pain for SS.

As for the Romeros...they've never announced a date so we can't be misled there. If anything I feel reassured they've given sporadic updates along the progress of DotD.

Yeah but this is exactly what happened with the last proposed Blu of The Amazing Mr Blunden .. announced for December of one year and then it got within a month and it got put back to early the following year and then zilch.

Yeah, though this one is a LOT further down the road - loads of new extras, the booklet, the book all commisioned and ready to roll. It'll be something small holding it back and we'll have it in Feb.

I was hoping to do a Jeffries' triple bill with Water Babies, Railway Children and Blunden on Christmas week, so I get the frustration.

It is kind of frustrating to get so close to the release date of something with packaging and special features seemingly done - something that would have been a perfect Christmas release - only to have it postponed for two months. I wonder what caused the delay...

We can confirm the release date is still December 9th and this has now been amended at Amazon. We have also been alerted to the fact an error at the printers has meant the poster was only printed with the new artwork and not the original artwork on the reverse. Happy to hear it was one of those Amazon hiccups. I've been looking forward to this after hearing so many glowing thoughts and reflections on the film from all you lot, swayed me to put my pre-order in a few weeks ago as i've never, ever seen the film before...and I bloody love Christmas!
