Because for a movie shot on 1080p it helps soooo much to master it in 4K.

Then again I would not be surprised as the new movie is impending, classic movies should receive that 4K transfer now

It really does, plus we've no idea to what extent the 1080p Blu-ray was filtered in the first place, but don't let that get in the way of your usual upscaling rhetoric.

Yes there is. HDCP2.2 -> HDCP1.4 -> HDCP stripper -> HDMI capture card in PC/Mac.

I recall Predators had a heavy color grading to it. HDR could finally do it justice.
And I just recently rewatched P2. Wish I didn't. Still, will be interesting to see what Fox can do with these old movies. P2 is all over the place with some scenes looking great and others barely average.

Do we think they'll package the Ultimate Hunter disc with this UHD? Or are they finally going to put that thing out to pasture? She's had a good, waxy run after all.

No way to tell but at this point I couldn't give a crap about a BD. May just use it as a coaster even if it is updated.

Honestly, I'll be a little sad to see my MPEG-2 disc go. She's been a fine companion over the last few years. I'm secretly hoping they release the UHD with the Ultimate Hunter disc just so I can throw it in the bin and lovingly place the original Predator disc in its place. She deserves that much at least

Best of both worlds. You could always light a candle on the UHD to collect wax

Yeah good question. If I have to guess I’ll say wax version. But who knows. I just hope they do right by the UHD.

Yeah I also hope they do a perfect job with Predator. This movie is on my top 10 list. It never gets old! Timeless. I also hope they do a perfect job with Predator 2...even though that movie was no where near the original.

This is probably my most wanted "old" movie that can look much better if taken care of correct....will 4k be the time after so many wasted blu-rays.

I watched the iTunes 4k version yesterday and it’s very good. There’s a few dodgy scenes but overall it looks 4k. No HDR though.

I sure hope U.S. gets much better covers. For gosh sakes, that's the Wolf Predator from AVP: Requiem on the Predator 2 cover!!!! Just give us the original artwork for Predator 1 and Predator 2 on the 4k releases. Could care less about the garbage PREDATORS
