I wonder what the percentage is of people only buying this to sell off for profit. That's the downside of the Limited Edition model - non-fans snapping up multiple copies to scalp on ebay. OTOH, the small labels will only survive if they stick with this model simply because they can't afford to sit on unused stock. It's a double-edged sword I'm willing to accept instead of the alternative: nothing but slick studio films worth viewing only once.

12 hours ago they had 700 left, now they are down to 400. It's going fast, 2-3 days and it'll be sold out methinks.

Severin Films/Intervision Half Year Sale Policies & Guidelines

I and others have been able to get free shipping at $80 during the sale.

I placed an order for 88 bucks and got free shipping. I hadn't picked up a Severin disc for a long time, so I caught up with a few I wanted at 50% off and got "Combat Shock". "Combat Shock" is the height of 70s/80s New York sleaze, couldn't pass up a chance to get it.

That's cool. Somehow I don't think it was their intention. Their regular FAQ also notes the $80 free shipping is (theoretically it seems) suspended during their sales.

New email from Severin says only 250 copies left (?!?). If you're on the fence, now might be a good time to get in.

Seems like the site might be crashing again? I'm not able to access it now; luckily I got my order in late last night. Seems like it might be a hard fight for those last copies.

This release has been a huge success for Severin; I hope the transfer and encode quality lives up to the premium price.

And it also seemed like I would've been able to get free shipping (to Canada) after $100, which I think is the ordinary non-sale threshold. However, there were some other titles I wanted so I topped up the cart to just over $150 post-coupon just to be fair to the rules of the sale.

Got my order in

I quite like this film and I would have regretted it if I missed out, selling really well by the looks of it.

I bet this sells out tomorrow.

Buddy, Ricky, David Gregory and the Severin team gotta feel good about how quickly this set has sold. I just hope the transfer isn't bungled by Severin's past compression issues.

Yeah sorry mate I don’t live in America which appears to be 95% of people on here who have no problem with this package.

Severin’s international shipping is a disgrace. $64USD is If want a blu ray of combat shock.

I’m bloody ropable that this did not get a retail release. I’m a massive fan of this film. Which couldn’t Vinegar Syndrome have got the rights rather than these con men.

Any recommendations to get over the free shipping threshold of $80? All from 2017 to get that discount.

I have had a similar feeling about them lately too. Their general "limited" releases now include a slipcover and sometimes a soundtrack. They used to just give those things away with like the first 2,000 pressed or whatever but have decided to release two versions now from the get-go and price-gouge the hell out of a slipcover usually- plus you can just order on Amazon and other retailers you can choose the over-priced slipcover edition or the standard version; so it's seeming to be pure greed that drives these types of releases. --and-- Yes I know Vinegar Syndrome also does "limited slipcover" releases but they dont raise the prices for those editions while also selling a cheaper edition sans slipcover. PLus theirs is onlyif you buy from them direct can you get one until they run-out, a perk for going through their own distribution set-up.

When going to view this on their site Friday night I was kinda put off by only deluxe editions starting at $40 plus tax and shipping. I thought the package deals seemed worth it though if it's not actually going to be re-released in some lesser-than edition later. I also felt like the additional packaging costs, the directors involvement and personalization of singing each and the rather large booklet, even the soundtrack (plus add in the limited availability) did justify the cost, at least this time on this particular item. But I was still a little put-off by the cost and shipping and decided to think on it over night and if it was still available Saturday to get it. And I did, ordered it yesterday- along with 4 other titles I had neglected getting before. All of those were 50% off and the total came to like $88 and free shipping. That averages under $18 a selection and doesn't feel like spending too much on any particular title. Look at it like that if you feel the price is too obscene. Cause if you really want it you prob have to get on it soon- unless Umbrella is gonna release it in your region. They're one label I've never much seen the appeal in.. so I guess you do get what you pay for really.

I got four with mine: Cathys Curse, Nightmare Castle, Devil Hunter/Cannibal Terror, and Devils Honey.

That came to $88 and free shipping.

I think you can pretty much pick any four that are 50% off you can get in at under $100 and get free shipping.

They can’t do anything about the shipping. That’s just the shipping business. And it’s a limited release because of the contract. You have some nerve calling them con men. Complain about price all you want, but get your facts straight and watch who you decide to slander.

I'm just stating my opinion. Yes they provide free shopping if I spend over $130USD. Which I am not willing to do.

Its obvious this was not thought out at all from any one living outside the US of A....

I hope Arrow still have the rights to this film.

Troma will probably put out their own Blu at some point, but I'd definitely trust Severin doing a good job over them.

Troma's Blu history is kinda spotty...
