drove north to Harrisburg PA from DC about a little over two hours, to see 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' in IMAX - no theaters in the DC metro area (or Baltimore) showed it as such.

My friend and I drove an hour and a half (three hours roundtrip) to see The Hateful Right 70mm Roadshow. Luckily it was in Charlotte, NC so we just made a day of it.

I suspect our next "movie adventure" will be for Mandy when it's released because it most likely won't be playing anywhere close.

I did Secret Cinema presents Star Wars a couple years back.
To this day it's the best day/night out I've ever had

Never had to drive more than a few miles cause live in NYC but I undertsand that sometimes getting there is half the fun on those long drives.

No more than an hour for me. When I lived in England, I drove a few times from Harrogate to York (about 40+ minutes). Biggest highlight back then was to see an advance screening of The Dark Knight. It didn't disappoint, and I got a nice lenticular poster out of it.

Drove to the Leeds IMAX once to see Avatar, can't remember how long of a drive that was (maybe an hour).

Yep, the one next to Lincoln Square. I'm upstate and all we have nearby is a small theater in a mall. The $30 tickets were worth it (also saw Blade Runner 2049 there which was incredible), and the 4am showing (Sunday after release) was enjoyably enthusiastic.

I used to drive from Tampa to Palm Harbor, where a co-worker used to manage a movie theater at night. Say about 25 miles maybe.

7000 miles flight to see Avengers Infinity Wars.
The IMAX was further away and more expensive (driving and parking) than the one in Tokyo near my hotel (100 yard walk)
