Bummed that this won't be as beautifully grainy as the Jurassic World UHD, though. Film vs Alexa XT & 65. If it has a 3k+ master (XT does 3.4K) it'll look nice and sharp at least.

This was better than I was expecting and the Dolby Cinema presentation was aces. Shooting with the higher end Alexa's came at a bit of a cost though, the camera capture was ultra sharp making some of the special effects scenes stand out as a bit too soft at times. I could see this becoming an ongoing issue as more films are shot with these higher end cameras but rendering effects at 2K.

Before I walked in I was torn whether I would miss the island but we've already had 4 movies on islands. I am all in on these new plot lines, it's vastly different in a good way.

Technically speaking site B should still be there though.

I pre-ordered the Target version this morning and do they always take the money out of your account right away? It seems they would when its shipped.

Ugh, that cover. I guess they have to show off the humans instead of the real stars of the movie.

It actually pays a great tribute to The Lost World (1925). Those brown and blue was all the color that film had. I think this s a great steelbook, but weather I want it or not is up for debate.

Target has a bonus disc (like World did) so I'll go with them, provided I like the movie enough to want it day one.

This is a DARK film, the black levels on the UHD need to be spot on!

Man, I don't know which version to get this time. I usually go with the BB 4K SteelBook, but this one is not impressing me. Might have to go international on this one, but other than the HMV 4K + 3D SteelBook (which won't deliver to the US), there aren't any better options yet. Wish Universal had left space in the Jurassic Park 4K Collection digibook like they did last time when the first JW film came out.

That temporary amazon cover is so good. Can’t believe the studio wouldn’t use it. Oh, wait I do.

I had hoped Universal would maybe start up a trend with BestBuy exclusive 4K + 3D packs after Pacific Rim Uprising but it appears not.

Maybe 3D will be back with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Here in North America, home of Hollywood and the film industry.

If they can make money in 2D it has to be money too in a 3D T-Rex.
Incredibles.

Today it doesn't matter, only a pretty picture with money attached to it does.
It's going very well, and, it cannot be worst that Pacific Rim 2.
We need more full packages like that.

It actually looks like it will be a loss this weekend. Tracking has it at $145 million at the most and possibly making even less. This can't be good news to Universal after the last one broke box office records opening weekend. The Incredibles 2 is looking to outperform in its second weekend so that can't help. Crowded movie season this summer. Who'd thought.

Already made $466M internationally, looking at $133M domestic opening weekend, against a production budget of $170M. The movie will be profitable. Disappointing? Somewhat. But hardly a reason to panic. Jurassic World benefited from being the first Jurassic in 14 years. This one doesn't have that benefit.
