It probably should be a sticky at this point but the Universal MOD movies are always unavailable everywhere until 1-2 weeks after the listed release date. You won't get them on release date.

This one's definitely grown on me over the years. Was a big fan of the show and watched it on HBO all the time as a kid. It was physical comedy at its finest. But when the movie came out it kind of seemed like a dumbed down version for people new to the character. There were a lot of recycled gags and it just didn't seem very fresh at the time. However, when I re-watched it again twenty or so years later I was laughing quite a bit and thought it was a lot of fun. For anyone who loves the Bean character, I'd highly recommend Rowan Atkinson Live where he performs a stage show with a mix of physical and spoken sketches.

Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing. Got the UK version. My big question is does this version have the US cut or the UK? I would have assumed it’ll be US but I watched it on Netflix just a few days ago and it was the UK.

Universal's first US BD of another Richard Curtis film, Love Actually, mistakenly used the UK cut of that film, they only corrected it for the later 10th anniversary edition BD. Can someone confirm which cut of Bean is on the US BD? |

Bean is hands down one of my all-time favorite movies. Has Bean for the last 20+ years. I know it's wishful thinking but I would love to see Shout Factory do the movie justice with a new transfer on 4K. I've been watching my Universal Blu-ray at least 3 times a year since I bought it. And I don't think the PQ is as bad as everyone is saying. Definitely beats watching the DVD. Mr. Beans Holiday I used to like when it was first released, but I gave my Blu-ray to my sister cause I don't enjoy it anymore. I can't wait to see what Shout Factory has to offer, and hopefully Bean will get an individual release, otherwise I'm once again owning the Holiday movie, haha.

I'm surprised that the US BD release would not include the US cut. In that case, I'm so happy I bought the UK version from Amazon UK. It has BD menus and the turkey scene as an Extra on the deleted scenes.
I'm surprised for the US release, they didn't just make an exact copy of the UK BD if they were going to use the same movie version. The UK BD is 100% region-free. Instead, they just copied over the movie with no menus or extras! Makes no sense. |

The universal release is one of their better transfers and still looks decent. Hopefully shout tho do a 4K remaster
