Not a fan of the direction she's taken the franchise in but as long as the brand makes money she'll be in charge. This isn't surprising.

They (Disney) are probably still recovering from losing Lasseter, and don't want to shake things up too much with the impending acquisitions. So that's why she's sticking around a little longer, I'll bet. The REAL test will be after IX comes out and we see the numbers from there.

I hope they hire Christopher Nolan to remake the entire filmography of David Lynch and then portray him in a biopic.

Will be interesting to see how Episode IX's box office numbers will translate after this news. I already saw a bunch of people "boycotting" Solo when that was released and they were proud when that movie bombed, so now they're saying they're boycotting Episode IX until KK and Rian are fired.

You can't deny that TLJ has caused the future SW movies to lose a significant amount of money due to the backlash.

Gee, whoda thunk a website called dorksideoftheforce could have got it so wrong. According to them she was going to be unemployed and unemployable by tomorrow.

Great news about KK as far as I’m concerned.

I finally watched Tucker: The Man and his Dream the other day, enjoyed it a lot.

And months of fun as all the 'disgusted alienated fans' who were adamant that Disney were so embarrassed by KK raping their childhoods and destroying the franchise that they had fired her - FACT!!! - and that anyone who didn't believe it was in denial will tie themselves up in knots to explain how no, they really hadn't got it wrong all along actually and this doesn't mean anything.

One can deny that just as easily as one can suppose it.

Except that you can. And I do.

Interesting that, backlash or no, the supposedly loathed TLJ has sold over a million more home video units than the supposedly beloved Black Panther and Infinity War. And there can't be THAT many hate-watchers out there.

And Solo grossed $214 million domestically. That's just a smidge less than Ant Man and Mission Impossible Fallout this Summer. More than Pirates of the Caribbean 5 in the exact same Memorial Day slot (and a very apt comparison) last Summer. More than any Star Trek film bar two. More than any Bourne film bar one. More than any Planet of the Apes film. More than any Alien film and more than James Bond film bar two. Point being: Star Wars on the absolute floor is still putting up numbers that would be respectable for most megabucks franchises. The sky at Lucasfilm isn't falling and we all need a little bit of perspective and careful consideration.

People just want different things.

Some want Star Wars movies released less frequently and for them to always be huge mega event blockbusters.

Others would like more content, to explore different parts of the universe and characters, and to even experiment with different styles and genres within Star Wars. These would obviously be less popular but still viable entertainment, even if not as profitable as the typical blockbuster.

"fans" I call bullshit on. I know a " fan ". Crying after Solo he's done. He can't " do" Disney SW anymore. Dosen't want to watch Episode 9 etc. But remains a massive Star Trek fan. Despite there being a run of shit Episodes in the TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT etc and various films. Most of these " fans " are online with nothing else to do. Clowns.

LOL. Star Trek & Star Wars will never die. Both are great franchises with their own strengths & their own flaws. Where Star Wars is more pop culture, Star Trek has influenced our culture & technology more. I like both but personally I'd take Trek ANY day of the week

-LOL...yea when a movie has been out on Blu Ray for well over a year or 2 more than 2 those films mentioned... OF COURSE it's going to sell more. Infinity War came out what? LAST MONTH?

Yep that's right...it didn't even make back it's own budget domestically (& even less internationally) and flopped harder than Justice League.
