I think it's usually safe to say that Digipacks(books) usually last longer on the shelf than Steels, so if it's a "which to buy first issue", I usually grab the Steel first.

The previous release from 2012 was region free, is it safe to assume these releases will be too?

I'm going to show up to Best Buy day one, dressed in full Winnie garb, and cry "SteelbooOOOOOOOOOOK" and if all the copies don't fly off the shelves into my arms, I'm going to be quite disappointed.

Oh yea. Definitely picking up that Target exclusive. Digging that cover art. Thanks for the heads up.

New to the steelbook club, are you? $30 is pretty cheap for quality steel these days!

I wouldn’t call $30 for any steel, let alone for a catalog title, cheap. Standard price maybe but not cheap. I’d be surprised if this didn’t end up dropping in price come release day.

“Quality steel”

Best Buy is not typically in that catagory.

Quality? What has changed over the past 6 months to a year? All steels I've ever bought have been 25 or lower. Now, they charge an extra 5 bucks. Why?

“Quality steel” is not USUALLY Best Buy products. BluFans, NovaMedia, Manta Lab, KimchiDVD... THOSE are quality steelbooks. They put extra effort into making unique and better designed steelbooks. Those range in price between $45 & $70 each.

This steelbook actually looks to fall into a category of actual quality for a Best Buy release. It is something that you would normally see from one of the above mentioned premium retailers. Therefore you’d normally be looking at paying $45 to $70 for it. Hence my statement about this being cheap at $30.

Got it now?

I'm going to be in the US that day what are the chances of getting a in-store copy?

Or is there a way to ship it to a store for pick up?

I'd say the chances are pretty good, if you can manage to get there not long after the store opens. I don't know if they ship to store, but I know you can buy online and pick it up in a certain store, provided that store still has stock; they'll hold a copy for you for (I think) 5 days after, and refund you if you don't come pick it up.

Thanks for the info! I've never ordered anything from Best Buy USA so I wasn't sure if it was going to be online only, cause in Canada almost no Steelbooks are available in store.

I’m not sure if you can order with a Canadian credit card and select in-store pick-up. I’ve only ever noticed the option to have the item delivered to a US address. Perhaps give Best Buy USA a call to figure out if that works? If not, could you have it delivered to the address of someone you will be visiting/seeing? That way, even if it isn’t delivered by release day, they could forward it to you via international parcel for a small extra fee in shipping.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I'll be staying at a hotel so I'm not sure if that will work. As long as it's not online only shouldn't be a problem.
