That is a great setup. In fact, I would go for the 680 series instead of the 700 series because I found that it did not sound sharp like the 700 series and gave a better sound. If you have 686's for front, a HTM61, and two pairs of the 686's coupled with a Sunfire super junior subwoofer it would run you about a little over 4.500 USD. Of course, with all the wiring it is probably more close to 4.750 USD.

Yeah Nice setup I think I would want a bit bigger of a sub I know the sunfire line and they are very impressive, however I think I know for my system thinking of going to a passive sub system and not active. If I could find a smaller version of these http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/kw-120-thx.aspx http://www.klipsch.com/products/deta...-1000-thx.aspx

I would be good to go

I love big sound when an explosion goes off I want to feel it

B&W speakers are some of my absolute all-time favorites. A friend of mine got me hooked on audiophile grade stuff by showing me his 2-channel setup, including a 7 wpc tube amp coupled to a mammoth set of B&W Matrix 801s. He played me "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, and it absolutely blew me away.

I'm not a Kansas fan, but I'll never forget that moment. The speakers instantly disappeared, and it felt like the singer was sitting just in front of me, singing live. It gave me chills. To this day, I use that system as my foundation to compare other systems I hear.

My friend was an audiophile grade stereo dealer who worked out of his home. He constantly rotated equipment through for auditioning, and he let me maintain a constantly evolving setup of two channel separates at my home as well. I got to try out stuff from Krell, Bryston, A/D/S, McIntosh, Yamaha, Carver and others.

Sorry, I drifted off there for a second. Anyway, if I could, I would buy a B&W surround setup from the 800 series. B&W has a very British-like sound which is warm yet detailed. It is very musical, but would need a little added oomph on the bass side for movie sound tracks. For that I would opt for a different sub, probably a digital servo sub from Velodyne.

Funny, you just described my setup. 802D mains, HTM2D center, SCM1 sides, and 817 rears with a 800ASW sub and a Velodyne DD18 sub. Driven by Classé and Bryston Amps off of a Lexicon MC12.

I don't know if I would call the sound warm. Detailed, accurate, and effortless definitely, but they are a shade on the reserved side; which I prefer. The DD18 integrates wonderfully with the B&W's; the built in room EQ really does a nice job and the bass is nearly limitless with it. Highly recommended.
