Didn't the ultimate editions (or special editions from two years ago) just drop the DVDs with the games and whatnot from the Hogwarts collection?

The Special Editions did, yeah. The Ultimate Editions actually included the original DVD bonus discs for 1-4 which meant you literally got every single supplement created for the series in either those, the Wizards Collection, or the Hogwarts Collection.

The Special Editions only had the Blu-ray feature discs and the "Creating the World of Harry Potter" bonus discs. Since the "Creating the World" discs (for the most part) only carry over the DVD content that was done in HD (like deleted scenes and trailers), that means the SEs are missing a lot of SD interviews and featurettes for 1-4. From 5 onward, since all supplements were created in HD, the original supplements got reauthored onto the "Creating the World" discs.

That's really good to know, thank you!

I have all the UHDs, Blu-rays, and Special Edition Bonus Blu-rays, and the 3D discs for the last two. I'll be modifying all of these Steelbooks with four disc flip tray frames so if I can get a hold of those DVDs for the first four (and I suppose the regular DVDs to fill in 5 + 6) I'll have a Complete Ultimate UHD Steelbook Set!

And I'll be able to sell my UHD set anyway because these Steelbooks already come with the UHDs and Blu-rays.

I'm quite happy to see those with 4K set-up getting some lovely Steels but since I'm not, happy to have the "Hogwarts Collection" which is pretty dang inclusive.
I was tempted on the older Steels (with faces on them) back in the day but again, rather have content than Steel in this case.
I do like your plans though Vangeli !

I did some research.

The individual 4K releases contain the same amount of bonus features as the Ultimate Editions spread across the two blu-rays.

The 8-movie BD/UHD collection only features the movie's and the 8-part Creating the World of Harry Potter documentary, dropping the bonus disc blu-ray from the individual releases.

My question is will this steelbook set have three discs per movie making it a 24-disc collection or 16-discs like as is in the 8-film 4K set?

Probably just the two discs, but if three then that's great. Would totally help justify why it's $70+ more than the German 4K set.

Only available for shipping unfortunately.
I checked out some pictures of the complete set and it looks like the box that holds the steelbooks is really thick. Almost like it's made out of some type of polymer product.
Does anyone know what it's made of?

Total stab in the dark, but I’m guessing it’s similar to the same box that held the BD steelbook set?

The box is also metal, not unlike a cookie tin. It damages easily.

don't pre order immediately and its more likely for them to price drop when they notice its not selling (not that im not guilty of this at times)

Same here. Too pricey. I know the regular Harry Potter steelbook Set went on sale majorly once it actually released.

bestbuy seems quick to notice when things don't sell and they need to go on sale. steelbooks like jurassic world fallen kingdom and rampage make me think this since they had sales within a week of releasing and they were both not in large demand
