Sounds like you aren't speaking to Amazon but rather to a Russian phishing scheme.

Anybody heard any news whether this will actually be released at the end of the year, given the numerous delays etc I live in hope rather then expectation.

I think they've said it will be next year now.

Signal One have taken quite a financial hit from HMV going under at the beginning of the year which screwed up their schedule quite considerably. A few titles have been cancelled but Nightmare Alley is definitely happening.

Cheers, did a little further digging and yes confirmed on the Signal One Entertainment thread for Q1 release, I guess they haven't changed the 31/12/19 schedule date because they still don't have a confirmed new date.

Nightmare Alley & Razor’s Edge are the only two titles that they kept for release. All other licenses were handed back.

I’m not hopeful anyone will be releasing the films that were handed back unless Fox manages to continue some more licenses, with Kino Lorber as the exception. Hell could there be a circumstance where Signal One’s license for Nightmare Alley expires before they’ve had a chance to release it?

I was happy to see The Gunfighter released in Germany but with none of the extras from the DVD Signal One would have gone the extra mile to retain (these extras had no release in European territories or indeed anywhere outside the US from what I gather.) If I don’t hear anything in the next few months then I’m getting the Eureka DVD as I’m sick of waiting.

Have to correct myself, S1 kept the license for FIRE SALE as well as the other two already mentioned.

Re NIGHTMARE ALLEY - been a few months since we heard anything, but based on the last update they’re aiming for a stacked disc for that one.

Nightmare Alley has planned extras but due to the amount of money S1 lost they said that future releases would be bare bones.

But wasn't the commentary, which included no less than Michael Brooke on the track, recorded for and paid for by Signal One itself? I.e. they own the commentary outright?

They said the other two (Razors Edge & Fire Sale) would likely be just the film & a commentary.

Yeah sorry that wasn't clear. The Nightmare Alley release will have extras the releases going forward will be bare bones.

Reading Signal One posts I thought the plan was to release Nightmare Alley as a special edition with the other two confirmed releases being vanilla (maybe with a commentary). Beyond that they might just release in total one or two special editions per year.

I'm only going by what the update a couple of pages back or so, in this thread said.

For the avoidance of confusion:

I can confirm that we will now only be releasing the following films in Q1 next year.

Nightmare Alley
The Razors Edge (1946)
Fire sale (1977)

All the other films I announced last year will not be released via signal one and are now back with Fox to license to someone else.

I’ll keep you updated on extras as they are confirmed for these films. Nightmare alley will be packed with extras but the other 2 might just have a commentary only.

Thanks again for all the support

Those are in chronological order. Worth noting that beyond the initial post I don’t think they’ve mentioned commentaries again so.....

AFAWK they are, but I guess they don’t have a whole lot to comment on at the moment.

James was active here back in August.

Now that we're in the new year, no release date or price on Amazon. Just an email sign-up to be notified when it will be up for pre-order. Although Amazon shows it as an open order for me.

Anyone have any updates?
