Man of Steel is his masterpiece, IMO. He would've made Justice League the right way too, if events had transpired differently during the production.

He's put out some solid films (Watchmen, 300) but lol @ "visionary".

That and The Last Photograph, but I suspect those are much harder to get financing for than a zombie flick.

I don't think Snyder is interested in zombies for the scares, but rather the setting/milieu.

Most zombie movies don't take place in Vegas / have to recreate Vegas. I imagine the location is a big reason for the higher budget.

Yes.. VISIONARY!

Nobody was doing visuals like he was before he was doing it. He may not have invented CGI, but he made some great use of it and applied it to storytelling that people have been copying since. Watchmen, 300, and Man of Steel are great examples of that.

BrightBurn practically copies MoS' cinematography.

Who else would've made MoS, B v S, Sucker Punch, cast an Israeli model as Wonder Woman or plucked a B-list GoT 1 season star as Arthur Curry? Not to mention making the unfilmable Watchmen into a perfect film?

So...apparently zombies rape human women in this film. That's a thing.

Some people just really can't read the climate of modern day society.

Much as I like Snyder, his fans are full blown psychotic fanatics. I can't look his name up on Twitter without being terrified at what I see, as if I'm a protagonist in a Lovecraft story.

It won't be. The rape stuff has long since been removed. That was revealed in 2011 from the attached director at the time by the way.

You can see that interview, which reveals more info about the film here:

I'd say 300 was the very definition of visionary...
