That's about the only way anyone would ever get me to watch this movie. I'm so disappointed that they got Will Smith to do this. The latest clips of Prince Ali are just difficult to watch. With Will Smith's auto-tune, horrible choreography, slow pace and flat set pieces, I just don't know how this could get any worse.

I'll keep an open mind about this film. I'm a fan of Will Smith, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but it's really important to get someone who can sing with the energy of Robin Williams if that was the goal. But even if Will Smith can't sing (I'll find out in the final film), he's got a lot of personality/charisma, so I imagine he'll deliver as a character Genie without much issue.

I'm not sure about the 3D. So far, it looks like mostly medium layered, average 3D from the trailer in 3D that I saw before the impressive high medium to strong 3D of End Game Avengers. But at least it's not as mild looking as Lion King 2019's 3D so far. The Lion King 3D in the original film, post converted for a 3D reissue, was mild most of the way too sadly.

After seeing more of this film, I dont think i want to watch it . It looks terrible. Terrible.

I'm a big fan of the original animated film, and I'm betting this live action film won't change that, but I'll see what happens based on the 3D visuals.

Did you like the original film if you saw it? I understand why Disney wants to present their classic films in a new live action story/point of view, though it's going to cause comparisons of each film as part of the concern.

I've never seen the original, not my kind of thing but I'll definitely get the 3D blu ray for this if/ when it gets released.

Just read that there is a 4K and 3D Blu-ray announcement in Germany 😍

I saw it today on the press screening.

There’s still an embargo, but I can say it’s a good film, but not great. It’s got the same “fix-and-expand” approach as Beauty and the Beast.

It was a 2D presentation, but I suppose the sloppy framing and too many cuts won’t help the 3D version.

The less said about Jafar, the better.

It’s a good and very enjoyable film, nonetheless.

Chances are it will become the first Will Smith film to be Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes since 2007.

Thanks for the details. So not as good as the animated version then from your viewing. I'm just hoping the 3D is more impressive in the final film compared to the average, medium layered 3D I saw in the trailer.

Show times are up for my theaters, and it looks like plenty of 3D shows for opening weekend thankfully. Best to see them now instead of waiting till next week, when they could all be next to gone, since theaters don't always give 3D shows enough time these days. They want to use those slots for new movies or other films it seems. But good that 3D shows are numerous from what I see so far anyway.

Kind of looking forward to seeing this in 3D, just for the nostalgia and a new look for the film. Nothing I was begging to see, but it should be interesting.
