I'd take QoS over all but one Bourne movie (Supremacy). And FWIW I do like the Bourne series quite a bit.

I actually like the movie but the editing frequently verges on unbearable, IMO. Going from Stuart Baird's beautiful editing in Casino Royale to.....mmm whatever it is they're doing in this one, has always been a tough pill to swallow.

The funny thing is the two editors have actually done some good work between them so I don't know what the hell went on.

I guess it’s never really bothered me. CR was so good, big shoes to fill. I think they needed to switch gears.

I still prefer it to Skyfall, so there's that.

And if anything can turn me around on movies i'm lukewarm on, it's this format

. In just the last week I thoroughly enjoyed both Backdraft and Hannibal - two movies which I had always felt a little 'meh' about.

Very true. I have more than a few 4K’s in my collection that I wasn’t big on until I watched the 4K.

Having watched all three of them recently I think that it's incredibly weaker than both Casino Royale and Skyfall. The action sequences are pretty good. But the writing, direction, ending sequence, and the full film cohesion isn't very compelling at all. The stakes seem small as well. I'd say that it rather fails to tell a story.

I agree it’s not on the same level as Casino and Skyfall.
