After reading the review and already owning the prior BD release, I think I will be cancelling my preorder. Not worth the money for the same transfer and very lackluster extras.

The screenshots on c-a-h look nearly identical to me. The Universal release appears to have slightly more noise or grain. Not sure if that comes down to encoding, mild noise reduction, or what.

Otherwise, unless you just have to have the 1945 adaptation, this release is pretty much pointless.

That was the oddest part to me how the original review had a a 2 out of 5 audio score while the Shout got a 3.5. Did Shout somehow obtain a superior audio source or clean up the one they given?

I had the other release so I was hesitant at first, but I got this today from Walmart still at $9.96. If they have it in your area it's free 2 day shipping!

I was cool with having the 1st release but just now saw that the 1945 film is included in HD as an extra, so I just ordered this for $10. I haven't seen it in so long, hope it still holds up, I enjoyed it when I saw it on TV way back in the 70's.

It's definitely a fresh scan, but it seems no restoration has been done, as the specks and scratches are quite plenty.
