That's the whole silly thing with the current MCU and then bringing X-Men into it. You already have killed Quicksilver off in Age of Ultron and both him and Wanda were established as getting powers via the Cube experiments. Now, they could possibly fudge that and say both of them had latent mutant genes that the Cube enabled i guess but the fact Quicksilver is dead means you are a child short for Magneto and they kind of implied the parents died in an attack already i believe so there's a few things to retcon.

That said, it would still make it a crapshoot imo if trying to ever adopt House of M where both Wanda and Quicksilver do play a role.

Personally i think they could opt for an X-Men and simply not involve Wanda at all in a team based or X-verse role in the MCU as a mutant.

That's the funny thing, the SAME thing happened in the comics as well. Scarlet Witch wasn't originally Magneto's kid in the comics, but later they retcon that. If anything, retconing Scarlet Witch to a mutant in the MCU would be faithful to the comics. So don't listen to those who say Scarlet Witch isn't a mutant in the MCU. They don't know shit. Marvel can always retcon LIKE the comics.

I like this idea, but they'd have to keep it very secret...which is not easy with all the worldwide media searching for scoops.

Besides the fact that she has a father in MCU, who died. It's just easier and makes more sense to not have them be related. It's an easy fix if so (adoption or whatever), but it's just cheap

It's too late to introduce mutants in the MCU universe. Too late, forced and contrived.

They must create a standalone alternate universe to accomodate mutants and the Uncanny X-Men. As simple as that.

That's the beauty of the multiverse and alternate universes. They can bring them from an alternate timeline or universe, where they have already been established.
