Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho has an R rating, and has tame violence but by today's standards it would be a PG-13 movie.

The only Disney/Pixar films released with G ratings anymore are those nature documentaries. When a movie as benign and toothless as Frozen gets a PG rating, I just don't know what the MPAA's deal is.

Disagree. Naked woman being butchered in shower? Instant 'R'. Even if you took out the stomach piercing and the blurred nipple.

Diving Bell and the Butterfly has a shocking amount of nudity (multiple breast shots, including some in a sexual context, and a penis shot, albeit clearly non sexual) for a PG-13

Some sequels to films already rated G get it (though Finding Dory got a PG despite being more kid friendly than the G rated Nemo) but I think the last non sequel Pixar to be G is Wall-E.

These two Naomi Watts movies has brief nudity. Actually Shut In has a brief graphic nudity, the part where she was in the bathroom.

Plus Disney’s A Christmas Carol only having PG rating really bewildered me. The movie has more jump-scares and frightening images than some horror movies.

I should clarify my post. I meant graphic violence in the R rated movies. The MPAA was very prudish about blood and gore up until Jack Valenti passed away. From then on, they have basically zero F's to give about the 'red stuff'.

All the Toy Story movies are G.

Did he die or retire around the same time Mel Gibson's Christ Is Keen (or whatever the hell it's called) was released? That was the first movie in a very long time which had a lot of graphic violence. It seemed to open the "gore door" for other films, and audiences no longer had to wait for the unrated DVD to see the wet and juicy parts.
