It took a couple of months after the Japanese release of Shin Godzilla before a US distributor announced that they picked it up for limited theatrical screenings (ignoring all of that funny business with New World, lol). Funimation err Crunchyroll doesn't seem to be interested in live-action anymore so we probably can't expect the same treatment for Shin Ultraman.

Worst-case scenario Netflix picks it up.

Worst-case scenario is no one picks it up. I hope it gets a U.S. theatrical release, but straight to disc / streaming would be understandable, as Ultraman is way more niche than Godzilla. Streaming only, at least we'll get to see it.

Generalizing 'outside of Japan' sounds like a streaming thing, like how Netflix had the Anime Godzilla films outside of Japan. Still, we probably won't have to wait long.

I heard Netflix is slashing their animation department, I wonder if that's gonna effect their Shannon Tindle Ultraman movie?

Edit: Just checked his Twitter, says the movie is still going strong.

Just finished watching the animated Ultraman on Netlfix (Season 1 and 2). Was pretty engaging, so I'm ready for a movie now.

Maybe Mill Creek will put this out on BD since they’re doing the Ultraman shows.
