booked in for speed and TPM (latter at cineworld and bfi imax)!

I remember seeing updates from you re: old films screening in the repertory cinemas thread and wondered at the time because iirc you only posted re: one chain's screenings (it might have been odeon then too) - if so is that because odeon is local to you or the one you usually/only go to?

i'm normally keeping an eye on listings myself inc. at vues and cineworld (that will be accessible to most people) as well as picturehouses/everyman/cruzon (not sure if latter is only in london would need to check).

Lots of places screening mad max fury road in run up to new furiosa film coming out but some Vues have been doing all mad maxes across recent weekends - saw the first one (my first ever mad max) last weekend, saw madmax 2 tonight and will be going to the third one next weekend. They did all indiana jones across each weekend for a few weeks recently too and LotR EE's similarly across september last year.

Cineworld curently has an april action season (i assume in run up tot he fall guy coming out) going on with all tickets Ł5. I saw predator (first time) a couple of weeks ago (unfortunately was the absolutely awful mush DNR'd master, had no idea and straight after came here to find out ofc its notorious - when apparently there's since been a much better one produced that's been screened in cinemas!) and speed was on recently as part of it too and looking forward to seeing Commando in a couple of weeks. They did a sci fi season recently too with some of the big hitting classics on as part of that too.

If you're only ever looking at odeon's listings I can look to report on other chains here when i can as normally making a note of what's screening when (at least the thing's i'd like to see)

My local cinema is part of the Odeon cinema chain and the one I mainly go to. I have occasionly made contributions in the "Older theatrical screenings" thread in the Movies sub-forum (thank you for the observation(s), which I hope people will find helpful for those who go or only go to Odeon cinemas (by the way, I have nothing to do with Odeon (I refer back to the start of this post).

Only went once to the cinema last year (the previous year, plenty of times). Not really been much that I've been interested in seeing at the local cinema this year, but I still post about any screenings of older films in Odeon cinemas. But feel free to post in this and the "Older theatrical screenings" thread if there are any older films being shown for example at Cineworld and Vue cinemas in the UK and Ireland.

Thanks for posting the above. Spotted The Crow (the original), Shallow Grave and Trainspotting in the Coming Soon section on Odeon's website during the past couple of weeks. I noticed the Transformers screening (the first four episodes) a few weeks ago on the Odeon website, but wasn't sure where to post them (isn't it the 40th anniversary of Transformers: The Movie next year?).

Spotted in the Coming Soon section on Odeon's website this week a screening of The Matrix for it's twenty-fifth anniversary (the release date stated is Friday 7th June).

Excellent re: matrix! I don't know re: transformers the movie anniversary as I've never seen the show or anything transformers personally but you're probably right. I've not had a proper look at listings since a few weeks ago but on a quick check this afternoon did notice some spider-man (including the Raimi trilogy) listings on a couple of chains for summer/autumn which I believe mirrors a rerelease that happened a few weeks ago in the states.

It's been a very, very long time since I watched some of the Transformers animated TV series from the eighties, but I can remember seeing the big-screen movie (which included the voices of Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Orson Welles) at the cinema on it's original release and possibly seeing a movie poster outside the cinema for new (at the time) Bond film A View to a Kill.

Yes, I saw some of the Spiderman films in the Coming Soon section on the Odeon website recently. If something has already been posted in either the North America or Movies sub-forums, then I've missed it, but when checking the BBFC website for new listings last week, I spotted a new one for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (I know it's getting a new UK physical media release, but under the Cinema tag for the film on the BBFC website it had this year on it. Which has made me think that following the UK cinema re-release screenings of The Motion Picture and The Wrath of Khan a couple of years ago, the next film is getting re-released in UK cinemas).

In terms of screenings of older films, hardly anything new has been added to the Coming Soon section of Odeon's website this week. Only two films I could spot that have been added (release date stated on the website listing pages):

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (20th Anniversary) - Friday 31st May
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (30th Anniversary) - Wednesday 19th June.

United Kingdom The Terminator and T2: Judgment Day

Was hoping it might have had another screening next week, but it looks like The Terminator and T2: Judgment Day are only being shown in Odeon cinemas this coming Friday night (mind you, it wouldn't make much difference as the schools won't start going back until next week (I try to avoid going to the cinema towards and at the weekend).
