This is the first time in quite a while where I'm not all that jazzed for the coming year. With that said, a couple of my favorite directors, Edgar Wright and Matthew Vaughn, both have films coming out... the Tom Hanks sci-fi BIOS looks interesting... and then there's two from Pixar, which rarely disappoint. Hopefully there'll be a more few surprises along the way.

So to recap:
- The King's Man (Matthew Vaughn)
- Last Night in Soho (Edgar Wright)
- BIOS (Miguel Sapochnik)
- Onward (Dan Scanlon)
- Soul (Pete Doctor)

OK, I have a preliminary list which will need to be trimmed down. It's absurdly long. I'm very bad at this sort of thing, obviously.

I'm going to put most of the list in SPOILERS because it's just too long. Also, these are in no order whatsoever. But the first grouping I put the crazy long list of films from practically every single one of my favorite directors together. But the rest are just random groupings. OK, here we go!

Blonde — (Andrew Dominik)
Mank — (David Fincher)
Let Them All Talk — (Steven Soderbergh)
On the Rocks — (Sofia Coppola)
[Untitled] — (PTA)
Dune — (Denis Villeneuve)
Tenet — (Christopher Nolan)
Benedetta — (Paul Verhoeven)
The Last Duel — (Ridley Scott)
The Woman in the Window — (Joe Wright)
Nightmare Alley — (Guillermo del Toro)
[Untitled] — (Jonathon Glazer)

[Show spoiler]The Witches — (Robert Zemeckis)
Louis Wain — (Will Sharpe)
The Craft — (Zoe Lister-Jones)
A Quiet Place: Part II — (John Krasinski)
Lost Girls — (Liz Garbus)
Mulan — (Niki Caro)
Emma — (Autumn de Wilde)
The World to Come — (Mona Fastvold)
Happiest Season — (Clea DuVall)
Good Morning, Midnight — (George Clooney)

Top Gun: Maverick — (Joseph Kosinski)
The Trial of the Chicago 7 — (Aaron Sorkin)
The Nest — (Sean Durkin)
Stillwater — (Tom McCarthy)
The Card Counter — (Paul Schrader)
Wonder Woman 1984 — (Patty Jenkins)
Black Widow — (Cate Shortland)
Kajillionaire — (Miranda July)
Annette — (Leos Carax)
Ammonite — (Francis Lee)

The Devil All the Time — (Antonio Campos)
Shulan River — (Hou Hsiao Hsien)
Green Knight — (David Lowery)
Birds of Prey — (Cathy Yan)
Rebecca — (Ben Wheatley)
The Old Guard — {Gina Pryce-Bythewood)
No Time To Die — (Cary Fukunaga)
Promising Young Woman — (Emerald Fennell)
The Last Thing He Wanted — (Dee Rees)
Macbeth — (Joel Coen)

I’m Thinking of Ending Things — (Charlie Kaufman)
Bergman Island — (Mia Hansen-Løve)
Last Night in Soho — (Edgar Wright)
[Untitled] — (Mike Mills)
The Rhythm Section — (Reed Morano)

It's truly unbelievable the number of movies A24 has next year that look absolutely stellar. Now, some of these will obviously be relatively small, rather obscure films. But it's such a long list, wow.

Thanks to Regal Unlimited I plan on seeing a lot of movies. I'll split them into two groups.

Movies I'd see even without Regal Unlimited:
Birds of Prey
No Time To Die
Black Widow
The Eternals
A Quiet Place: Part II
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Godzilla vs Kong
Wonder Woman 1984
Fast and Furious 9
Jungle Cruise

Movies I'll see because of Regal Unlimited:
Tenet
Dune
Bad Boys For Life
Sonic the Hedgehog
Uncharted
The New Mutants (if it actually comes out)
Top Gun: Maverick
Free Guy
The Purge 5
Morbius
Venom 2
Monster Hunter
Death on the Nile

I wasn't even interested in Mulan until I watched the trailer a few days ago and saw how gorgeous it looked. I have no idea how I'll react to the story itself, but it's going to be beautiful to look at. That much I know.

And seriously, Gong Li said the budget was approximately $300M -- that can't be right, can it? Holy cow! $300,000,000?! Jesus. These budgets are getting totally out of hand.
