I strongly disagree, it's not the best film of the series but it's entertaining from start to finish. It also has a great villain character the guy who played Ellis De Wald in it was really good.

I don't know how bad Beverly hills cop 3 is but not have Billy's partner from the first two films in it was a mistake. by the way only saw parts of 3 but man George lucas in it that's too weird

Why is it weird, it's not even the first time John Landis gave a cameo to one of his director buddies.

because to me seeing the creator of star war in Beverly hills cop movie is kind jarring for me like when he was in the Rollin with bob saget video

Beverly Hills Cop has to be in my top 2 comedies of all time along with High Fidelity honestly I can't choose one, it constantly flip flops.

John Ashton being the straight man to Judge Reinhold's character is sorely missed in part 3. Plus Eddie isn't as cocky as the first two.

Or as funny, either.

Considering that Eddie has apologized for his old material, I don’t know expect anything entertaining from him now.

Honestly, there are flashes of the old Eddie in The Nutty Professor, but he largely hasn’t been funny since Boomerang at the latest.

That’s what I said,in my opinion. The average person is still settling for an inferior product for a number of reasons.

Of course it serves a purpose, it lets the powers that be know there are enthusiasts out here that want a 4k UHD release. It does seem crazy as Beverly Hills Cop is one of Paramounts best.

You should definitely check out Dolemite Is My Name on Netflix. R-rated Eddie at his finest.

Murphy has already had a resurgence after doing the Nutty Professor films, after which he seemed to fall back into obscurity - is this his second coming? I'm fully expecting BHC 4 and Coming 2 America to just be more run-of-the-mill entries attempting to make Murphy relevant again. I always thought of him as a one-trick pony more than a funny comedian. He had his moments but the original Beverly Hills Cop will always be his "swan song" in my book.

Cop III tried to hard to be more like Cop I and failed miserably and the action that made Cop II great was toned down quite a bit for this sequel. Add insult to injury with
[Show spoiler]the killing off of Inspector Todd
and having Hector Elizondo replacing John Ashton wasn't the best either.

Hopefully with Cop IV on the horizon Ashton will come back and maybe even Ronny Cox as Bogomil.....

Awesome that this franchise is getting a fresh print and life on Blu, but man, I'd rather not be subjected to/forced to buy BHC III.

I'd rather pay more for the discs than than cheaper digital that looks like arse compared to the real thing.
I'm with you in that I prefer physical media, but the simple fact is that this is a business, and convenience is (and has always been) a huge selling point. Streaming and digital copies are more convenient than discs. It's more space efficient for consumers, not to mention less cost from the studio, since manufacturing and storing discs aren't required. Do I ultimately like the direction it's going? No, as I said before, I prefer having a physical copy of the movies and music I own. But it's not surprising to see it go in that direction.

Hell, I can use events from my own life as an example. I suffered a severe knee injury this year, which necessitated the use of a wheelchair for about two months. In that time, I was pretty much confined to the main floor of my house...where as my home theater set up and my movie collection were all on the basement floor of my house. In order to watch any movies, I was limited to the streaming services I subscribe to, and my Vudu account.

That all in mind, along with the fact that UHD is still a very small percentage of sales, I can see why they aren't going the UHD route right now (even if I'd prefer having UHD discs of the first two movies; I have no desire to own 3, although it's not gonna kill me to own a copy of the entire trilogy; it wouldn't be the first time I own all the movies in a series, including the crappy ones).

Give me the fantastic BHC 1&2 in UHD 4K and just skip the horrendous third movie, such an embarrassment to the franchise.

It really is infuriating. I don’t understand this move. They were releasing plenty in 2018 but 2019 was terrible for Paramount releases.

My 2011 Blu-ray of the first Beverly Hills Cop fills the void quite well when the mood to revisit this 1980s gem strikes me.

The second movie is decently entertaining, though, so I can see myself jumping in here if the price is right.

Another thought that could be added when it comes to choices/inconsistencies/frustration, is that they re-release these with new scans, and do a 4k version (albeit only digital) but yet it was only last year that they re-released 'Trading Places' but did nothing for that movie in regards to a new master. (i suppose i could add Coming To America to that thought aswell, but i personally prefer Trading Places)
