The Black Widow issue is an interesting one because Disney designed all the Marvel shows on their Disney+ station so they work with the movie universe. I think some of the shows need certain Movies to screen before they can air because of how the overall storylines for the universe play out.

Best buy is moving to online only movie sales pretty soon, it has been mentioned by employees that are members on this forum.

Its gonna release in cinemas and on HBO Max same day. Hopefully we'll at least get to see it theatrically in 3d.

I’m certain at this point that Disney is done with 3D and even most physical media. Hoping we’ll see this on 3D disc since WB has been mostly consistent with 3D but it all might be over now. This movie will tell us.

I think any future productions from Warner’s or Disney will dispense with 3D conversion. For films which have already put millions into 3D conversion like WONDER WOMAN 1984 & BLACK WIDOW I think the British home video market might see those titles released eventually.

WW1984 premiers on Dec. 25th on both HBO Max and theaters (which are open) here in the US. For international (no HBO Max) it premiers Dec. 16th thru the 25th depending on the country. It will open in both 3D and 2D in theaters.

On Jan. 25th 2021 it leaves HBO Max and becomes a PVOD. It remains in theaters.

Here's to hoping for a theatrical and home video 3D release, don't let us down WB/AT&T.

Disney are not done with discs. Don’t believe the hype. These companies like money.

As long as there's a good profit in making discs which costs money first, then we'll continue to see discs, as long as there are enough fans.

I haven't had a chance to see the 3D in the trailer on this one yet. I hope it's strong 3D layering and some pop outs too for this style of super hero film.

Going back to 1984, it's interesting to see there aren't many puffy hairstyles going on in the trailers I've seen.

I wonder if Cheetah played by Kristen Wiig will add some hints of humor to her "very serious" personality in this film. She's always in comedies most times, so this role without any humor in any trailers so far seems unexpected IMO.

I agree that studios will keep issuing discs, whether or not they continue to issue any more 3D discs is another matter.

It's a matter best discussed in the is 3D dead thread rather than here.

According to home entertainment industry insider Bill Hunt, who says that he has confirmed this with sources inside the company, the Mouse House has “made an internal decision to suspend the 4K Ultra HD release of live action catalog titles from both their own vaults and those of their newly acquired 20th Century Fox label”.

Hunt notes that the move is not surprising, given that while Disney has “been aggressive” with the 4K releases of Star Wars, Marvel and animated releases, it has “made almost no effort to promote any of them” and has not even issued press releases about them – a move branded by Hunt as “odd” when considering that now-CEO Bob Chapek was formerly president of the Disney home entertainment division.

Wonder Woman 1984 being a Warners release, it would be best if any further discussion of Disney 3D took place in the Disney 3D thread.

Discussion of Disney's 4K UHD releases belongs in the 4K forum.

Being a Warner Bros. release, it is highly likely that we are gonna get a blu ray 3D release of this film in the U.K. as well as in the U.S., i wouldn't worry about this film getting a blu ray 3D release, the only downside is that the audio on 3D disc will only be DTS-HD MA 5.1, other than that we shouldn't worry about this film getting a blu ray 3D release or not, if it's a film by Warner Bros. then a 3D disc will most likely be on the way.
