Can’t believe Amazon lied about it arriving on release day, instead it’s out of stock indefinitely. Way to force people to torrent and give up on physical media. Sad.

Bit over dramatic don’t you think? they didn’t lie they can only go on the information they were provided and for some reason stock of this title has been delayed as even HMV did not have the regular release available on time but it is available now.

Extras are very limited, a few interviews and scenes, no commentary. Is there a better release elsewhere more in line with Smith's usual treasure hall of extras?

Same extras on all releases, perhaps once the roadshow is over he will put out a more comprehensive version but still content that your average Disney release of a billion dollar movie.

Just watched the extras. It's basically an hours worth of interviews/bts and a gag reel. It's not all bells and whistles but it's way better than your average release these days. It's a shame it doesn't have a commentary because then it would feel like a comprehensive release.

Given that a 90-minute Tusk making-of appeared on YouTube last year, and given that Kevin intends to do a Reboot commentary, we'll more than likely get both in the future. It's just that we'll get a YouTube making-of and a podcast commentary, rather than an extras-laden double dip.
Methinks Lionsgate and Uni wanted to get the home video release out there too soon for them to work on the extras properly. |

For anyone pining for a commentary, Kevin Smith has just released one for this via his podcast network. Sure to make for some terrific self-isolation listening!

What's the general verdict on this film?
I loved Kevin Smith's "Askewniverse" films about 10 years ago and Clerks is still one of my favourite films of all time, but a lot of his other films after those have been hit and miss for me. Cop Out was awful and I liked the idea of Tusk... But one viewing was enough. Gotta admit the few clips I've seen of Reboot looked kind of cringy to me and I couldn't get over how different/odd Jason Mewes mouth looks these days. The film could surprise me but I get the feeling Jay and Silent Bob were best left in the past? |
