Really glad it's coming, but I HATE that cover, ugly as hell! Also, it's a real shame that the ones who don't own 4K set nor have the money to upgrade their system, or couldn't care less about uhd, have to pay uhd disc as well if they wan't the standard Blu-ray disc from this new edition. I hate these kind of situations! I was really waiting 3 disc standard Blu-ray edition from this like Maniac, Zombie, etc. Why in the hell they couldn't just keep producing those and release seperate uhd release for those who wan't it? Yeah yeah, it cost more and so on... And what I understand the situation is this from now on, so Vigilante and others are probably getting combos as well.

Cover is awful. Reminds me of those late 90's Dimension DVD covers, only far worse. It's a good thing they didn't botch the House By the Cemetery or NY Ripper covers, although they did go back to the European theatrical art for HBTC. Their LE Blu-rays with the lenticulars are so cool.

Awful, tacky art, cheapens the movie. Nonetheless I’m sure everything else about this release will rule. Any extra exposure it gets is well deserved. The soundtrack is so great, too. The opening theme is so weird and beautiful.

Fun Question: Which covers do you guys enjoy the most?
Original American Poster: [Show spoiler] Italian Poster: [Show spoiler] Vance Kelly's Limited Edition Poster (SOLD OUT): [Show spoiler] Belgium Poster (French/Dutch): [Show spoiler] Favorite: Probably the Italian Poster My personal favorites would be the first two but prefer second one's demonic look while being a big fan of the aesthetics on Vance Kelly's poster. I also liked the logo and the title for the American one with the nice cursive and strong font on the word, "DARKNESS." I didn't enjoy the Belgium one since the detail makes it look a little weird and the artwork just doesn't work for me but the nighttime background with train tracks is cool. Not a real big fan of the detail on Vance Kelly's either since it gives a very scratchy and kind of uncanny valley look on the characters. However, it just makes it all the more scarier ![]() So, which one is your favorite? |

True. The film is not a horror film in the traditional sense. However, the second and third posters make it look like it's violently scary and terrifying but when you watch it, it's not that bad. I mean there's still violent scenes but there's only like 3 scenes of violence that happens in the film and only one of them was scary. The other two were either meh or pretty hilarious when you compare it in today's standards. The first poster shows blood and a corpse which gives it a very eerie but not a very scary atmosphere and the fourth poster is not that scary but there's still blood on the blade which makes it look like it's a slasher film like the first poster did. I think the fourth poster is surprisingly the most accurate to the way the story really is. But in terms of aesthetic and visual candy qualities, the first two are my favorites.
